This is what I followed to replace the the hinge. Do you have anymore info on the recommended tension stuff?

To clearify: The door works without errors about 75% of the time and will close without issue. 25% of the time the door will throw the error and need to be recalibrated. No other interventions needed, only to hit recalibrate in the main screen and will go back to working normal.

Yes springs were removed, had to release the tension to remove the actual hinge. I inspected the springs and there was no damage to the spring. They still work to counter balance the weight of the door.
