One possible winter tire option for Model Y

I live in Ottawa and am having no issues with my toyo celcius all weather tires on the MY.

Recent heat pump failures - software issue?

I have a Nov 2020 build MY with 30000km, live in Ottawa. Already had the PT sensors replaced as part of the soft recall. 2021.44.30.7 ota update on Jan 13. Heat pump failure on Feb 15 2022. Sounded like a lawn mower in the car for about 15 minutes and then nothing. SC was good. Set me up with a...

    Model Y Hitch depth

I went out yesterday and put on my thule swing 4 bike rack for the first time. No problems but as I expected the thule locking hitch pin is too long. I've ordered the thule passive lock strap as a work around. Looks to be a basic cable lock with a puck attached. You wrap the cable around the...

Cost to Import from US? Possible? Not worth it?

get the tesla in new hampshire, no state tax. I bought a us car in 2008 in Ohio when the cdn $ was 1.05 from a honda dealership and never paid state tax. easiest process ever to import the vehicle. saved about 8k. I haven't seen it mentioned yet but will tesla honour the warranty if imported...

    Snow clearing mode???

yes, it is irritating. I live in Ottawa also but I keep a 24 inch floor squeegee in the garage. I preheat the car and use the squeegee to clear everything off quickly.

Scheduled Departure for AM Commute---uses more than saves?

I use scheduled departure, it costs me about $.01/minute. I also like to use dog mode when I go in the grocery store and it's snowing out. Saves me from cleaning the car off.

    Extreme Cold driving/battery, etc...

At those temps I get low 40's for efficiency and low to mid 400's for Wh/mi

Just finished my first "road trip" and I am not happy with range

My teslafi shows low 60's for efficiency in that temp range so yours does seem low. Are you in chill or standard mode? Being in chill makes a big difference in my experience.

Cruise control / Auto Pilot is Garbage

I have the same issues with AP as the OP, though not to that degree. There's a parkway by my house where the speed limit is 60km/h. There are 60km/hr speed limit that AP recognizers I put it on AP at 60km/hr and it works. One stretch however it always drops the speed limit and forces my cruise...

New Tires - Don't want to go back with OEM

I had them on my pathfinder. No issues. But I'm not one to really notice what's going on too much in a car. I don't notice the MY being noisy, I don't notice that the ride sucks etc. I have the toyo celcius all weather on MY. They also work well.

    Supercharger - Bancroft, ON

this will be great when it opens for my travels between ottawa and minden.

High cost of charging according to TeslaFi?

I agree with OP. I look at TCO. I received MY early Nov and I live in a cold climate. Total charge cost is $174, total drive cost is $92 for 4000km. My Pathfinder would have been around $700 over that distance. I preheat, I keep sentry mode on. I drive with the fan on at 5. I keep it in dog mode...

    Startup Issues

Is your car in sentry mode? If not put in sentry mode overnight so it doesn't go to sleep. Test for a few days.

    Off-peak Hours confusion…

From Brock-WI posts earlier. Have you done this? I had to redo mine after the holidays and followed these steps and it worked. Steps again 1. Schedule Departure 2. Car will charge during off-peak hours to depart by 8:00 AM 3. toggle Off-Peak Charging on 4. Select Weekdays 5. hit the "Change...
