Could someone help me understand SGIP?

This is great news! I had 3 Powerwalls installed in February and it would be awesome if I could get the SGIP rebate. I downloaded the Developer Eligibility Application from this page SGIP | Developer Registration Is that what you are talking about? What boxes did you check in section 2)...

    Powerwall charge/discharge pattern

I wish we had more control. What I really want is to charge the Powerwall to 100% using solar during off peak and part peak, and discharge more than my home usage to the grid during peak, down to 25% or so unless there's a storm brewing. In other words CPUC "no grid charging" mode. Since I am...

    Powerwall charge/discharge pattern

I just got my Powerwalls in February. I'm on 1.44.4 and Advanced Cost Saving mode. I'm on EV-A with peak, partial-peak, and off peak. In the morning (off peak and partial peak) the Powerwalls charge from solar until they are 100% full. Then they discharge during peak to zero out the load from my...

    PG&E discontinuing EV-A rate

UPDATE: I got my December bill and I'm still on EV-A. The web site shows I'm on EV-2A but the bill is what matters :)

Northern California PW installs BUMPED to 2020!!

It was the Las Vegas office. No idea if that is official. I already have solar so my order is just for adding 3 Powerwalls with whole house backup.

Northern California PW installs BUMPED to 2020!!

Wow, I read your post and checked my account -- same thing. I called and got my install scheduled for April 27th, 2020! I should have checked earlier!

    New Powerwall quote install

Why not buy one additional Powerwall from Tesla, and have Tesla install both of them while they are at it? It will probably cost less than $10,000 and you'll have two instead of one.

Northern California PW installs BUMPED to 2020!!

I signed off on my order in for 3 Powerwalls on 11/4, permit issued 12/3. I just got off the phone with Tesla, they said they will lower the price to make up for the reduced tax credit for my order and others placed before 11/30. I have no install date yet, but hopefully soon.

South Bay Powerwalls installed & powered on 3 days ago...shouldn't they charge from solar now?

I also live in Cupertino and I'm waiting for my Powerwalls to be installed. I first put in the order October 15, and they said they submitted for permits November 8. How long did your project take?

Can Powerwall charge from solar and export to the grid?

I have Powerwalls on order, so I can't try this yet, but this web site says via the api - which is exactly what we want. hackerschoice/thc-tesla-powerwall2-hack

Anyone install 3+ Powerwalls in San Diego?

I just got a reply from Tesla about an NGOM for my Powerwall order, see below. They are still working it out for customers in the PG&E service area. They offered to do the install without the NGOM but that could delay the interconnection into 2020, so I decided to get the NGOM which does add...

Tesla Solar Panels and/or Powerwall - Northern Napa County

I got a bid from Tesla Solar in August, the initial design specified Hanwha QCell panels and Delta inverter. I said I wanted Panasonic panels and SolarEdge inverter, and they were willing to do that at no additional cost. They switched to 315 watt Panasonic panels. In the end I decided to buy...

Anyone install 3+ Powerwalls in San Diego?

Per CPUC Decision 19-01-030 the NGOM is no longer required for systems > 10 kW, as mentioned in this article: CPUC Approves Energy Storage Net Metering

    Surviving the PG&E test?

Yes, that sounds like a good feature request. We were discussing that on another thread recently: In other words, if you charge from the grid, NEM / CPUC says you can't export that energy to the grid, so you can't do rate arbitrage with storage alone. But you are allowed use that stored energy...

Advice for PG&E Service Connection/Rate plan

It's a heat pump so you need to divide the kWh by the COP of the heat pump, which can be found on the heat pump data sheet. It's typically around 2.2-4.4 depending on the model and the outside temperature. Since you are upgrading your electrical panel, get 225A instead of 200A, the additional...
