False Positives With FW 5.8.4 Charge Current Reduction?

My charging was dropping from 30 amps to 40 at home on the 14-50 with UMC and giving the charging error. I emailed Tesla about this and they tracked the logs for awhile. They replaced the onboard master charger today which seemed to resolve the issue as of the charge I did today. Tech said...

    Firmware 5.8.4

Yes, 220 when charging or heating the cabin from shore power. I hadn't thought about it too much until the charging power error's started showing up 10% voltage drop is pretty high considering the load and cables in involved. As i never had the charging fault during the day ( only at night ) I...

    Firmware 5.8.4

On the topic of charging....I have had the power issue warning and current reduction to 30 amps on my 14-50 showing up also. I emailed the local Service Center and Ownership and they tracked the issue for a while and will be replacing my master charger in the car tomorrow. When charging the...

High Power Wall Connector HPWC first install

Canadian electrical code requirements for a disconnecting means are required when the charger is connected to a breaker 60 amps or larger. The disconnecting means is required to be within site of the charger AND capable of being locked open. Not sure if a circuit breaker is interpreted as...

    TPMS reset problem

I installed a set of Tesla 19" wheels with winter tires a week ago and was enjoying the TPMS errors for the last while. I did the TPMS reset as soon as 5.8 was installed and it worked like a charm. These were OEM Tesla wheels with sensors that had not been 'tuned' to the vehicle before. ( I.E...

    Firmware 5.8

We update to 5.8 on Saturday with the same air suspension results as everybody else. Went out this morning a little colder than usual and noticed that the front defrost ducts are permanently on regardless of the interface settings. I dd a couple of reboots to no avail. All was fine with 4.5...

Vancouver BC Canada's insurance rate $3,400?

I am in Victoria BC and as you know, ICBC bases their rates on the driving location. I was $2500 a year with all the discounts and full replacement coverage. I do know that most areas of the lower mainland are higher cost areas than Victoria. On the Canadian forum several members seem to have...

Can I add a 100A circuit for HPWC?

Victoria is only marginally drier than Vancouver and I leave my UMC plugged in outside all the time. They seem to be well built. Try and put the receptacle under cover somehow or use an 'in use' weatherproof cover to protect to receptacle connection.

Can I add a 100A circuit for HPWC?

Possibly, but not necessarily. Hydro puts in whatever wire size they can get away with based on your service size. They have standard conductors sizes for 125 amps and below and for 200 amps, then multiples of that as the service size goes up. If you are under ground, it may not be a big issue...

Can I add a 100A circuit for HPWC?

Those rates for a service upgrade are about right. The box is cheap, but the additional conduits, wiring cables and labour cost. The BC Hydro fees are about $400 at least for a 'work with' where Hydro isolates your service while the electrician does this upgrade. Costwise, the 30 amp receptacle...

Can I add a 100A circuit for HPWC?

the cottage may be the same deal, although the exisitng loads are not clear, it looks like lots of heat. Call BCHydro tomorrow as to what a 200 amp service upgrade to your house may costs. it depends if your service is overhead or underground, plus this will also impact the electricians costs...

Can I add a 100A circuit for HPWC?

Hi Steve, from across the water in Victoria! I would say that you are out of luck for adding a 100 amp circuit. Your 125 amp main breaker can only be loaded to 80%, even without considering the other loads in the house. I suspect that you have gas heat...To be honest, even adding a 50 amp...

    Zextraterrestials S (tory)

Zex, I see that you have staggered tires sizes in the 19's. How has that impacted the handling?
