Steering harness plug was corroded

I don't know. Go for it I don't work around high voltage.

Mine was a 2018. 51k miles. $4200 to replace the steering and front harness.

At least he has a warranty. Mine went out before I had the issue.

Don't drive through water. $4200. Had to replace wiring harness in front.

Ok, so I just got word from Tesla that the wiring harness is corroded and the steering rack will be replaced, along with an alignment. $3200. Here are the pics of the wiring. This car just turned 5 years old.

One reason I thought it was overloaded CPU is there would be stuttering in the reverse camera. I have it at Tesla today and will let y'all know what they find (hasn't happened for a week!). Had the appointment 2 weeks though and they saw all the errors in their logs.

The issue started for.me in March.

So did replacing this fix the problem completely? I am having the same issues.

I'm starting to think this is a problem I cannot solve externally. I'm very tempted to get off the Beta, as I think Tesla Vision started all this.

If your phone is paired via Bluetooth remove the connection (just disconnect, you don't have to unpair it). Also don't remove the key, it's just something that interferes in the steering software via Bluetooth.

Tonight I was listening to the 2023Q2 stock results and we were going out to dinner so I pulled up my phone and got it playing on Youtube. When I got into the car I switched to Bluetooth and connected the car to my phone and immediately got a 'Steering Assist reduced' message, not even putting...

Well, I hate answering my own question but here goes! I had 3 appointments at Tesla which I canceled each time because the car would get the Steering Assist errors intermittently. Sometimes I would get it once and after a power cycle it'd go away for a day, sometimes it'd happen several times...
