The turn around is just too complicated. You have to wait for the new car, pay the new Taxes like @shokunin said. It's just too much work to save something if that is even possible.

Got an email back finally from Tesla online order department, Here is what they said in the email: "We have added your name to our interest list and we will contact you once we have more information available. We appreciate your patience." I guess we won't get our upgrade anytime soon.

That is lucky! I already took delivery and my red X is in pretty good condition, so feel good to upgrade this baby. Can't wait for that new shiny P100D badge! It's still 4 month wait so will see how soon I can get it done.

The new X is pretty much flawless. Having wind noise problem but according to tesla it is normal. So everything else is excellent. Nothing is perfect. Love the car. If you see a red shiny X with P90D with black 22 wheel, it's most likely me. I drove around Irvine quite often. : )
