Solar Production dropped by over half!

My installer finally managed to get the CTs working and finally the enphase app is making some sense. The 29 panel system produced 63KwH today and also matched the PVWatts number. So all good for now.

Solar Production dropped by over half!

Thanks @yblaser , that makes me feel better. @charlesj the max output is 325W for IQ8M. I think I made a mistake by not going with the iq8A. Would have given me 10% more for at least some part of the day.

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

CA Bay Area PGE Got PTO 2 days after inspection by city

Solar Production dropped by over half!

How do you estimate how much energy should be produced per panel? I am kicking myself for not researching this deeper before installing. My Q-cell 400W panel with IQ8M microinverter is producing only 2.2KWh per day. It is a 400W panel and there is 10 hours of sun these days in the Bay area. I...

Analyzing and improving heat pump energy usage

Do you have separate compressors to handle the cathedral ceiling area and the upstairs area? Do you run only the compressor in the cathedral ceiling area during some time of the day? Since the heat is escaping that compressor is going to be inadequate for that volume of area. You need to turn on...

Power EV from solar before powerwall/other-circuits/grid?

I submitted my application nearly 10 days ago but I haven't got anything from PGE yet about it being correct without any errors. How many days do they typically take? I thought they get back within a week.

Analyzing and improving heat pump energy usage

Cathedral ceiling is a killer. The heat difference between the ceiling and the floor can be 5 degrees and lead to discomfort. It also takes the heat pump a long time to heat that much volume. Is the fan set on high? It will help to circulate air and heat the area more uniformly.

    over-production with PGE

Solar How do I calculate solar cost in terms of $/kWh? The roof gets 1800 hour/yr of usable sunlight. Installers give cost only in $/KW installed capacity. Since the roof is almost flat, is there an easy way to estimate kWh generated per year?

    over-production with PGE

I have heard that PGE compensation for surplus solar power generated and sent to the grid is low but has anybody done the actual financial analysis for this? The rates shown here https://www.pge.com/pge_global/common/pdfs/solar-and-vehicles/green-energy-incentives/AB920_RateTable.pdf has gone up...

Power EV from solar before powerwall/other-circuits/grid?

My idea was to see how close I can get to cut my reliance on the grid without (or with minimal) batteries. Charging my EV seems more important than running an appliance. WFH give me some flexibility to charge exclusively from solar during the daytime on 1 or 2 days a week. Plus one or both days...

Power EV from solar before powerwall/other-circuits/grid?

I am planning to install micro-inverter based solar system. I would like the solar power to first power my EV before anything else. Is there any way to setup the combiner box to achieve this?

    over-production with PGE

Wow PGE is so stingy comparatively. You can make some serious money by overprovisioning in SDG&E or SVCE.

    over-production with PGE

Has the net surplus compensation rate changed recently? I saw https://www.pge.com/pge_global/common/pdfs/solar-and-vehicles/green-energy-incentives/AB920_RateTable.pdf 8c is much better than 3c.

My 11.2kW Tesla Solar Project - Portland, OR

Nice. I too have a PGE 400A service and a main panel siemens WEP4212 with 2 meters, 225A busbar and each meter having a 200A breaker. One of the meters is connected to a Murray LC4040B1200CU sub-panel with a 200Amp breaker and many smaller breakers per circuit. The second meter is connected to...
