2023 model y front housing camera rattle

Update on mine: mobile service came out and fixed the rattle. But after a couple of weeks, I have it again - less intensity but same area. Hoping the fix wasn't done properly or that they have a new permanent solution.

    6 Weeks & 7,000 Miles - Thoughts from a penny pincher (2023 MYLR)

My exact thoughts lol. Thanks for the post OP. As others have said, plugshare and ABRP are key. Real penny pinchers only filter for free chargers! That's what I do anytime I'm somewhere new - a good chance to check out/support the hotels, restaurants, breweries/wineries with free chargers. Do...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

This is also very case specific. Because a modern Prius under warranty vs EV is going to be a lot different than the 99 Outback that I made the switch from. It's also a lot different if you drive alot and use synthetic oil. Then factor in head gaskets, timing belts, fuel pumps, radiator...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

For reference, this is what I used, though I bought it years ago and there might be better ones now. I also said usb but I meant 12v (cigarette). I just found that my feet always got cold before everything else so this extended my range. GREAT WORKING TOOLS Heated Car Blanket, 12v Heated...

My Two Week Review - Heading towards 300,000 Miles

Not really... he included all of his numbers + WI gas prices. For OP, congrats! I'm glad you did your homework. Impressive! Not many people would map out 10 years before dropping $50k on a car - though I think it makes sense, especially in your position. I had the same annual commuter mileage...

2023 model y front housing camera rattle

I've been looking into this too. Random and minor... For now. Might try this once I can confirm the location since it seemed to work for people. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/7628213/

Moving for work with no home charging - thoughts, advice?

4 hours of L2 at work is plenty for your commute - especially if it's free. Just move it during a break/lunch. You'll probably only need to charge it once a week anyways. Then charge it up on Friday so it's ready for the weekend. Not ideal if you're doing a lot of non-commuter driving but it'll...

    Need opinions on Model Y

LR makes sense to me if you're looking at longer trips and comfort. Plus you have all the speed of the plaid already. Here's a post about the changes too. Can't say if the matrix headlights are worth it, since they're not activated yet, but they'll likely be better either way. Mainly, I think...

    Model Y Longest Cargo?

You've really been mulling this over for a year and a half?! Given your specific requirements, why not just rent one or schedule a demo drive with your tandem?

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

Right. Aftermarket black hubcaps specifically because I wanted to protect the wheels. Plus they did oem in the video which means you have to paint the exposed lip too. They're all probably the same, but at the time these were the cheapest and included center caps. https://a.co/d/besYyjU

Picture of your Model Y - Right Now!

Thanks. The taillights are smoke, so after I smoked the side reflector, the hubcaps were too bright but I still wanted to retain range and the OEM look. I ultimately got the idea from this youtube video (start at 6:02) They never revealed what they did but I replicated it with black...

Hyperdip / plasti dip on new car

I didn't know about the 6 month part but I was 5 months in when I finally dip'd my emblems. No issues. I also just hyperdip'd my wheels and the process is a little different - more coats, no need for glossifier. I wanted matte black on the emblems though and plasti is a lot easier to find...

Do any Y owners only have liability insurance?

Why risk a $50k+ car to save a couple hundred bucks? Just think of it as money that you would've spent on gas. Replacing the windshield once could negate any of your savings, let alone if you total it or against an uninsured. The main thing for Tesla, for some reason, is to shop around. Geico...
