    Missing Energy Screen

You can get to the energy screen (although it's not well integrated into the UI) by using the voice controls.. I think you say "show energy" and you can get the old energy screen.

trunk closes but wont latch that extra latch so car says trunk open

A word of warning... I've gone through two "cinch motors" on my 2015 P85D trunk... it's the part that does the final pulling down and latching of the trunk when it closes. I believe the part is a Mercedes part and it is prone to fail. It can be a pain if it fails when it is halfway actuated...

DIY Car Wash Guys - How do you avoid dust coat?

On my previous black cars, the California Car Duster worked great for quick removal of pollen without scratching the paint. As said above, a ceramic coat also tends to not hold dust.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

They are most likely operated via CAN bus which I believe the current "adaptive" headlights are as well... so this is more an issue of software and not hardware to make them work. The chips driving that board are all specified to support CAN bus as an interface and it would make a lot more sense...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

It seems, though, that the new samsung/hella matrix lights are also can bus based looking at the take apart and chip identification... so it very well might be something adaptable. The current headlights are also can bus from what I understand, so it might very well be something that could be...

Feature request: Blindspot images on instrument cluster

Looking at the design of the MCU, it's just another screen for the AMD Ryzen setup on the 2021 refresh and the same goes for the MCU2 Intel Atom equipped cars... all screens should be able to display anything as this isn't like the older Teslas where the gauge cluster and the MCU were two...

    RN1163 Group where you at?

I've got a RN116 ordered Jan 11th (Plaid, Red, Black interior, 21"s and no FSD) with the build page showing 2-4 weeks, then after order it was April 18-May something. This week it changed to March 18th to March 31st after scaring me yesterday when it briefly changed to TBD. Here's hoping for...

Thoughts on buying an older Model S P85

The easiest way to tell is to reboot the MCU from the steering wheel... on MCU1 you have to hold the two scroll wheels to reset just the MCU and I believe the upper buttons to reset the screen in front of the steering wheel.. on MCU2 both the main display and the gauge cluster use the same...

Thoughts on buying an older Model S P85

I'm getting ready to sell my 2015 P85D with about a year and a half of CPO warranty and I'm hoping that provides some assurance to the next driver beyond the battery warranty alone... but so far my battery has also shown very little degradation, although I've been pretty religious about charging...

According to these guys, the OSRAM "Nightbreaker" is the brightest of what they tested with some other off-brand options being slightly brighter. BulbFacts | Best Recommended HID/Xenon Headlight Kits

It's not cheap, but in theory this should be the last paddle gear you should have to buy... Tesla Model S Stainless Steel "Paddle Gear" Replacement for 1042845-00-A It's machined steel and supposedly much stronger than the original.

Is it possible to upgrade the in-car charger?

I've got a 2015 MS P85D that I've been waiting for parts for the extra 40A charger for about 3 months.. the service guys said sure it was possible but they wanted to double charge me for labor (it's supposed to be $2500 including labor but they tacked $500 labor on to the quote). The last...

360 surround view + HDMI kit testing

Mine also is in English although the menu option only says Simplified Chinese with no other choices... I've also found some menu options don't appear to change (such as the default front view mode) however, it does change function when you click left or right. It seems maybe the translator just...

360 surround view + HDMI kit testing

I have the other remote.. not at home but I believe it has one extra button which basically duplicates the other button on top... Regarding heat, yes the unit gets fairly warm.. we'll see if that ends up being a problem or not, but considering the metal case it is probably ok.
