I got it now. Indeed, I did not know about this core charges and assumed the $2.5k was the “final” price of the MCU2. I guess it is MCU1 price +$2.5k. On the other hand, this could have been explained as “pay $2.5k and return your MCU1 or pay $3.5k”. When you got a discounted price you are told...

Hum...I see what you mean. So instead of charging more, you sell them/they buy the original MCU...so it would not be like they making up a price and charging you just to refrain you from getting your own stuff back...would make sense...thanks.

Nope. Those are 2 different upgrades. The former (MCU1 TO MCU2) has just been announced 1.5 month ago at $2500 while the latter is about autopilot FSD. since you already have EAP, you have a discounted price.

Could be because of early version. Mine is a MX 90D April 2017 - brand new it was 262 miles at 100%, now after 47k miles it has 251 miles. I lost 9 miles in almost 3years... not too bad...
