Did you get it fixed the second time? Mine has also broken twice too. They fixed it free the first time but have quoted $150 for the second repair. I do suspect there was user error on a passenger's part but I've had a lot of cars in a lot of years and have never had a part break like this.

How long has it kept working? I had the same issue in my Rivian and a similar process appeared to fix it but then hours later it wasn't working again. Others on the Rivian forum have had the same experience. I haven't repaired for the Tesla yet so I don't know whether it'll stick.

Are you using low back or high back boosters? For low back my kids prefer these: Robot or human? The narrow base makes it easy to access the seatbelts.
