I'm getting various BMS errors, and my model S won't go into Drive (D) or Reverse (R)

I am in the Netherlands, near Eindhoven. Personally, I don't have a garage/shop, but worked together with two companies in the Netherlands to get our battery fixed the first time. Now the second time (after the second module failed), I went back to one of these companies (GreenAid), who...

I'm getting various BMS errors, and my model S won't go into Drive (D) or Reverse (R)

I didn't use the codes, but we managed to use the Tesla Toolbox to clear the fault after the actual issue was fixed: TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART. Recently, we got the same error in another module. By now, all modules in the pack have been checked and fixed.

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Unfortunately, this indeed seems to point to an issue with the main battery. I would start with reading out the cell voltages using for example ScanMyTesla. You may temporarily clear the fault using the Tesla Toolbox, but if the cause is not fixed, the fault will return. I live in Best, so...

Hi I have these codes, can someone help me find out what this is? Thank you

Hope you can find the fault! We also did not see any signs of moisture inside the battery, only a loose wire. Good luck!

Hi I have these codes, can someone help me find out what this is? Thank you

We used the Tesla Toolbox to clear the fault: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/tesla-model-s-stopped-working-car-may-not-restart.129097/page-6#post-7584438 After clearing the fault, it did not come back anymore and we have almost driven 5000 km since then (after refilling the coolant)...

Tesla model S85 grote batterij overleden

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Same here in the Netherlands. I also asked for the possibility to get a new battery, and initially on the phone the service center indicated a rough price for a new pack, but later informed me that a refurbished battery was the only option. A new battery at a reasonable price (~15k) would be a...

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Great to hear that you managed to get your car driving again and everything seems to work fine!! Also thanks for sharing/confirming that the procedure also worked for you! (Nice by the way, I live a few km's from Eindhoven.) In my case the car is also still driving fine without observable...

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

That is very frustrating... You have connected the Tesla Ethernet-FakraHSD cable I assume? In my case it was indeed the steps you describe above. Could it be a physical issue with the cable?

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

My interpretation of a power cycle is to disconnect the 12V power supply to the BMS (by disconnecting the 12V battery and/or removing the battery from the car) and reconnect. What would you consider long term, >1 year? What I am positive about for our car is that the workshop which helped us...

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Hope it will work for you too! Let us know. The coolant for our car was filled up yesterday, 6L added and an air purge was performed. Now our car drives again as before. Normal charging and Supercharging also works well, during Supercharging the imbalance was ~30-35 mV and now overnight and in...

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Thanks! Somehow I actually do hope your suspicion about the loose wires is not right for our car, for sure I will keep an eye on it. We took out module 11 from the pack and I checked all wires. Out of the 7 wires, only the wire between cell group 63 and 64 was loose. The other modules we left...

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Thank you very much for your support Jason! Did not yet manage to get a direct CAN reading (no readings yet via CAN transceiver). However, even better, I managed to get the car to drive!! :) The BMS_f107 showed up today in both active alerts and recent alerts. I noted that the time interval...

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Thanks again for your fast reply! Although that doesn't sound too promissing... At least none of the 96 cell voltages are constant and they vary by 0.6-1.5 mV (2-5 bits if I understand correctly) over the ~26 min. measurement, which seems to suggest actual readings to me in this case. There...

TESLA MODEL S stopped working... CAR MAY NOT RESTART

Unfortunately, after the workshop re-installed the pack today, the BMS_f107 fault was not (yet) removed: Looking at the cell voltages with ScanMyTesla, the voltages appear stable and the imbalance is now ~8-9 mV. The two cell groups 63&64 (within module 11 of our 85 pack) used to be...
