    Charging Station?

The mobile connector is $250, the 48A Gen3 wall connector is $450. The mobile connector will require a 240V connection for level 2 charging. As mentioned previously, this is commonly paired with a NEMA 14-50 socket to leverage the included 14-50 adapter that comes with the modern mobile...

    Model S 75 Phone as a key

I think this should be a main takeaway from this thread for any folks that purchased an older used S and are wondering about using the phone rather than fob for unlock and start on a regular basis. It works, but in addition to wandering out of cell range, you can also inadvertently leave your...

2017 Model S Not preconditioning when Nav to Supercharger

What was your SOC when you were on the way to the supercharger? If I'm departing at less than 20% in my 60 and enter in a supercharger as the destination, it won't heat the battery for more efficient charging until I arrive and plug in, even if the arrival estimate is above 10%. If you don't...

I-Pass Issues - Excessive “Video Tolls”

I held mine out the window or roof until discovering that the spot to the right of the camera worked in my '15 P85D. I may feel differently about the RFID sticker whenever I get one, but I cannot abide mounting the full transponder anywhere in the car.

    Chicago Car Wash Recommendations

I have a subscription at Delta Sonic and feel it's been a good value because I can get there when it's not crowded so I wash often. On a nice weekend day, though, forget it. Consistently good washes but I never wait for drying so I can't comment on that aspect.

How Aggressive Should Tesla Be with Variable Pricing to Manage Supercharger Congestion? (i.e. Should Tesla jack rates at chronically congested SCers?)

I'm in favor of any pricing that discourages suburban tesla owners from using SCs for primary charging locally and gets them off their asses to install a L2 connector at home. In Illinois this is even more ridiculous given access to hourly pricing plans, overnight it's regularly $0.03-$0.05/kWh...

Pre-conditioning at home...energy pulls from battery instead of the wall? why?

Apropos of... certainly not this 80% case, but in my experience if you're below 20% SOC, preconditioning won't start even if you're connected to adequate wall power.

Sunroof Vents when Opening the Door

Last night I pulled in around 2% SOC, set the limit to 73% and timed it for when rates would be around $0.03/kWh. Sunroof was shut, departure was set for 7:15 this morning. Around 6:45 I got a notification that the sunroof wasn't fully closed. I'm only noting this incident because it marked the...

    Vehicle may not restart errors

035 triggered on my 2012 60 when preparing to Supercharge. $155 for a coolant heater/battery referred to as "MDL S, DM, THERM SYS, ELEC BATT" on the invoice. ~$400 total with labor.

Sunroof Vents when Opening the Door

The issue went away for about three months, then came back a lot worse with 2023.38.6 and the release just prior. I'd say it now occurs every other time the car unlocks, typically just a vent this time of year but occasionally closing a roof I had intentionally left open during a short stop.

Summon out of the garage and more

I don't know of any extra setup beyond having Summon enabled in the car, but my MS's are very old. A double-click on my fobs will present the door handles, at which time the lights flash. If I long hold instead, the handles will remain retracted and the taillights will come on and stay on, at...

Summon out of the garage and more

I'm not sure if any of these will help, but here are some observations about my history with Summon on a 2015 P85D. When I had MCU1 in the car, using Summon from the app was a nonstarter. It would move a few feet and then cut out saying that I had covered up something on my phone. After...

Is MCU2 upgrade worth it if I have LTE with 64GB emmc

I own vehicles with both early MCU types. The biggest thing I miss on MCU1 are the changes to navigation on MCU2 that added multi-stop and arrival SOC percentage estimates on the main display. I didn't realize how often I used them until they weren't there. You can still see the arrival estimate...

Sunroof Vents when Opening the Door

I've been experiencing the same issue on my 2015 S ever since Tesla replaced both scroll wheels. Unlike other folks in this thread I don't find that it happens all the time, maybe once every twenty times I open a door. I have seen similar behavior with the door handles on both front doors- in...

    Summon Questions

I use the AP1 Summon/autopark daily to get in and out of my garage. When I had the original MCU in my 2015 S the app integration didn't work, but the stalk and fob methods always did. Upgrading to MCU2 meant getting out of the garage in the morning via the app was a lot easier- I just wish...
