    Luminar’s largest customer: Tesla

I will throw out a random uneducated guess, because I like to hear myself talk. Perhaps it's to train the vision system in depth perception - the lidar can be used to automatically label the distance away objects are, and then as they move, to calculate their velocities. Tesla can get a lot of...

    Inflation pressure for non-stock tires

Hi. First time with non-stock tires on my model 3 (I've always gone with stock but got a nail in the tire wall and only tire shop open did not have stock model 3 tires. Luckily I was due for new tires anyway). Wheel Works put these tires on (all 4 tires): Potenza Sport AS BL 235/45R18 XL98W...

    2019 awdLR

Yes, the switch to HW3 happened in 2019, and if I remember correctly, they made the switch to HW3, then ran out of HW3 components and switched back to HW2.5 for a while. So for a 2019 car I would check which version the car has. Edit: jjrandorin beat me to it. :)

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enabled for one month trial this week

Can I ask a naive question - what is is about the ultrasonic sensors that stops these cars from getting the vision based autopark or the free V12 trial? Maybe there's a different software branch, with the non-USS branch getting the development? Thanks.

Tesla collision center quoted $4400 for repairs

For what it's worth, I'm in California too and went through insurance when a tree branch fell on my car and it required over $5,000 to fix. My insurance company said it would not affect my rates (I think because it was a comprehensive claim). My rate did end up going up a small amount, which may...

    wipers stopped working on auto

Also as has already been mentioned here, you can adjust the wipers without the screen. If you push on the left stalk button, over the next couple of seconds the left scroll wheel can be used to move through the wiper speeds.

    wipers stopped working on auto

It's interesting how varied some of the experiences are here. The auto wipers for me were generally OKish, but not great. I always wished there was an "offset" that we could set - I generally wanted the wipers to go one level faster than what the auto wiper did. After this recent software...

Tesla battery longevity not affected by frequent Supercharging, study says

So if I'm going to do this lithium plating recovery thing, what state of charge do I want? And then let the car sit at that state of charge for 2 days? Thanks.

Well that only took a couple few years!

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

Well, I think we may be almost there. The transformer seems to have been installed, and there's a new telephone pole that's tapping power from the distribution lines. The ADA space has some new portable toilets. They're perfectly positioned so that when a car pulls in to charge, it will block...

    Supercharger - Olema, CA (LIVE 16 Aug 2023, 6 V2 stalls)

I was by not too long ago and unfortunately there is still no evidence that PG&E has done anything. There is no transformer and I did not see a new telephone pole to facilitate connecting the overhead distribution lines to the transformer. Looking at Tesla's map it seems the closest...
