Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Did you bring up your "additional information" screen under software and check the CCS status?

I thought you could still supercharge, but not level 2 charge. Or did I read that wrong?

Oh ok. I don't have FSD, so I was not sure how that works. But I think you can also request a reflash through the service app.

Or just wait for the next OTA update. That's what I did.

Alright.... verified everything is working properly. Level2 home charging working. Supercharging working. CCS1 charging working. I had planned to try the Chargepoint EV charger at the local Harley dealer nearby, but for some reason that location did not show on my app so I could not initialize...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Joined the club today! Thanks to Falcon4 and everyone else who shared great info. Installed the ECU this evening and just finished updating. Charging the car right now on the home mobile connector and verified Level2 charging works. Will try Supercharging and then CCS1 charging over the next few...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I thought the 2022s come saying CCS1 enabled? I would think Tesla would open their cars up to CCS1 charging, considering they are now opening up Tesla Superchargers up to other brands on EVs. Doesn't seem right to take chargers away from us for other brands to use, but not allow us to use...

I've got two coming because I bought from several sources not sure which would come through. So I will have an extra.

But it identifies the different module and then makes the proper changes for it?

Well I think the key right now is finding a SC that has one in stock. Because they ARE on backorder with no ETA date.

Man that's awesome. I wish I could have that luck. Still can't even get a reply about the part from anyone. I tried the service request via the app also, and have yet to be contacted about it.

It's crazy how different they all seem to work. I went to two service centers in person, and was told there is no retail parts counter. I had to email the parts guy (Tesla has this thing against phone conversations apparently), and he responded once, then never again.

I got that last night too.... just wish I had a charge port ECU lol.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Got my bundle of wires (thanks Falcon!), got my adapter due for delivery this week, but still can't get a charge port ECU. Tried the two closest service centers, both of which not very willing to help. If anyone out there has a local SC that has one, please PM me and let me know! I'd even be...
