Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Agreed, however there isnt any directional mounting markings, so I assume even though they have an asymmetrical tread, they are also non-directional. No? From other sources online it confirms the same.. However visually you would want the side with the larger patch on the outside of the rim...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Flip meaning, flip the rear tires around on the rim.. they arent directional, so it doesnt affect anything..

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

My Solution to this issue until it is resovled is simple: I flip the back 2 tires once I see the inner wear is getting thin. Usually at around 4-6k miles for my driving. That allows me to use the full life of the tire. Shop pulls off the wheels, flips them around, re-balances. 21" Wheels...

FSD is unavailable now due to error in defeat device detected

My guess is it rewards driving with 2 hands and registers if there is additional torque in both directions.. maybe a counterweight on either side would fool it but I have no intention of finding out nor do I condone the usage of tricking the fsd.. I decided not to use my fsd because its stops...

TS Sportline carries the tires and has access to stock.. I had a great experience with them, tires arrived in 2 days..

Any luck softening the suspension in the 2021/2022 refresh?

I must have gotten to the rough ride.. Just the lighter rotors on my Plaid made me content enough.. I agree though, its very stiff in general, but the car is very heavy so that comes with the territory for performance I guess..

Any luck softening the suspension in the 2021/2022 refresh?

Yes, the fix is to purchase aftermarket lighter forged wheels or at minimal a Brake Kit with lighter rotors. Signature SV104 wheels are quite popular... or go for 19"s factory wheels.. I noticed when I upgraded my brakes to Unplugged Perfomance big brake oversized kit, it dropped about 2 lbs...

    Unplugged Performance Sway Bar Installed!

Correction to my original post.. The Stiffest Setting on the Bar is towards the rear of the car when on the ground.. It is the opposite of the current directions on their website.. although it may be updated eventually. I confirmed this with Unplugged and also changed the setting to the...

    Torn between two used S

Im glad my car came w FSD.. I never enabled full FSD on my car, but with the package my car does lane shifts, takes all exits on highway to my destination and does a bunch of other things. I absolutley love it so for me FSD all the way.. The prior models FSD wasnt so useful, but with this...

2022.24.5 shows recommended 21"tire pressure as 20 PSI on 2022 Model S Plaid?

42 was the previous model S.. 40 is whats on the door tag for the Plaid w 21" 19's run slightly higher so 42 makes sense.. Personally I run 43.5 all around on my 21's and have hit the speed limiter without issue and plenty stability. I did run 36 psi for a while when I first got the car...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Im still curious if the T2 version of the Michelin tires solved this.. I thought the Neg camber was adjustable? Perhaps im wrong.. Mine from the factory was -1.7 which is actually the perfect setting, gives the best contact patch for curves.. more than that the rear end turns into an Ice...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

My tires also shred on the inner.. Its clear that when one drives under heavy load (I run in sport mode / lowest setting) the car squats and adds a ton of neg camber causing the inner tire to be the main contact point and with 1000hp, it just rips them right up.. From what Im reading it...

"Pull Over Safely - Vehicle Shutting Down" - Car Totally Disabled

Mine did that also, except I was on a major highway.. came very close to being rear ended multiple times as I was over the crest of a bridge and there was no shoulder to pull off onto.. I had to jump the barrier to safety. Car started working again after about 5-10 min. Turns out it was a High...

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

I had squeaking coming from my suspension as well. Mine was from the front right.. They lubricated the sway bar links, and axle shaft / hub and re-torqued all the suspension bolts.. They had to use special microphones to find the noise.. If yours is similar, check there!

New Michelin PS4s put on with updated T2 rating

The T2 tires DO have the bluetooth module. I just patched a hole in my tire and saw the BT device.. It is cast along the center of the inner tire.. There is also foam. I thought in my previous post that it didnt have them, but I stand corrected. There is a QR code on the back you can...
