Success: US/NA Model 3 charging on CCS2 in Europe

It was not CCS compatible in the US. I added the v4 ecu and “bundle of wires” while here in Germany to enable ccs support. The information on the resistor was something found in a thread here at TMC. Yep - we are in talks. It looks like they have an updated version they plan to release soon

Looking for a US 2021Tesla Y, CCS2 Retrofit kit for the EU

The zip ties were only temporary for testing. It has been sealed up and plastic welded over the seams. Those are low voltage signal wires anyway. All of the high voltage goes through the solid metal contacts.

Success: US/NA Model 3 charging on CCS2 in Europe

Hi all - Just thought I would share how I successfully updated my US/North America Model 3 (2018 AWD) to charge from European CCS2 chargers (exception: does not work on V3 superchargers due to error cp_a139 and cp_a066). First: I purchased the CCS2 to TPC (Tesla proprietary connector - now...

Looking for a US 2021Tesla Y, CCS2 Retrofit kit for the EU

Hey - I actually just went through this with my 2018 US model 3 that I bought with me to Europe. In my case I needed to update the charge port ECU to v4 to get ccs adapter support enabled. After doing that, I bought a CCS2 to US TPC/NACS (Tesla proprietary connector) from evseadapters.com...

    Driving US model in EU

My US model 3 is currently in shipment to Germany. I would very much be interested if there is someone that can help change the maps over

    Supercharger - Quartzsite, AZ

Actually this is not entirely accurate - first there appears to be an issue with some of the standard superchargers at this location. I plugged my ‘18 MX75D at 2B and 4B and could not get above 20kW. I plugged in at 3B and it was only marginally better at 50kW. There are 4 “urban” superchargers...

Rabbit chewed through wiring harness on brand new Model 3

Technically no. This would need to be handled by my comprehensive insurance but (as previously stated) the SC is being very cool about it and trying to do some sort of good will if possible. My SA did mention the harness was somewhere in the $3k range.

Rabbit chewed through wiring harness on brand new Model 3

It would appear that way. I cant confirm if the motor completely failed but it was definitely not communicating with the rest of the car. I believe there were some reports of people getting this same error with RWD cars and they were only able to drive up to 60mph. I could definitely get all...

Rabbit chewed through wiring harness on brand new Model 3

not too surprising. Rabbits are very good at getting in to places if they want. There was a post a while back of someone who had rodents in the trunk

Rabbit chewed through wiring harness on brand new Model 3

Just in case anyone else runs into this, I thought I would share my story. I have a brand new (picked up August 31st) Model 3 AWD. It has been driven almost constantly and accumulated over 4000 miles by October 8th (so it has not sat idle for any extended period of time). I am a management...
