Tesla plainly states using launch mode is abusive to your vehicle. I'm not about to abuse my baby (2015 S, P85D) since NOTHING I've run into gets anything but a look at my rear end as I blast away from them!!

Lithium ion batteries LIKE to be topped up. They DO NOT like to be run nearly dry before charging. They will not last as long as they could if you would only top them up as often as possible.

The first thing I did when I bought my 2015 Model S was put a couple of good scratches on it with a church key (down low toward the rear). From then on I didn't need to worry about appearances (and it has NO EFFECT on my reason for buying a P85D rocket)!!

It cost way too much, but it turned me back into a teenager at heart. That alone was worth the price of admission!!
