Battery problem Service Required ID 259 data 0x0004

Hi Ross - how did your "ID: 259 data 0x000004" problem get resolved? I've just started getting the same message (VIN#21, in the UK). If anybody else recognises this issue it would be great to hear about it! Cheers Sean

Vehicle Tracker installed by Tesla in UK Roadsters

Thanks; understood. I do have the OVMS device and am very happy with it. But it does not meet the requirement for insurance purposes (understandably, as it is very easy to remove). I understand that 3G services are scheduled to be discontinued in the UK by the end of 2024, but I'm fairly...

Vehicle Tracker installed by Tesla in UK Roadsters

I *think* that all the Roadsters delivered in the UK had vehicle trackers installed by Tesla, prior to delivery. I kept up the call-centre subscription for the first two or three years, but dropped it when it was no longer required for insurance. However, given the rising valuations of...

    Base vs Founders

I realise this is an old thread, but.... I think the cold gas thrusters are a significant part of the SpaceX package. And my understanding is that the compressed air tank (and multi-stage compressors, presumably) will replace the back seats. So it's a choice of "SpaceX" or "back seats". I'd be...

    Powertrain Problem ID: 963

Thanks VERY much! I keep the car in a a garage and when I bring it home wet in the winter I run a dehumidifier for a few hours, otherwise it never dries off. It sounds like that's a good habit to keep up :) cheers Sean

    Powertrain Problem ID: 963

Aha! yes, very wet: this morning I drove ~60 miles through almost continuous rain. Most of that on the highway. I was attempting to charge in a car park. I tried a couple of outlets, one with my 30A commando cable and one with the 13A travel cable. Same problem with both. I'll try again...

    Powertrain Problem ID: 963

Hi - my Roadster just displayed the "Powertrain Problem" message, with the power connector flashing red. But my error codes are not the same as the OP - I'm getting iD:287 Data: 0x44000000000 (photo attached). This happened as I plugged in to a (possibly dodgy) 32A commando socket. I'm now...

    Ecotricity Electric Highway

Aha! Thanks Alexander. I have a Tesla J1772, but I'll probably leave that unmodified and get The CAN and an extension cable. The cable is a Type 2, Male-to-Female, I assume. Zerocarbonworld doesn't sell cables any more, but evconnectors.com looks like a good source. cheers Sean

Seconded! Kevin, what is that cable and where do we get it? cheers Sean

Does 3G work in Malta? (and how can I change the SIM card/APN settings in the car)

Hi - 3G and 4G work very well all over Malta and Gozo. I've been using Vodafone Malta for the last few months, both with a PAYG SIM and roaming with my UK iPhone. My PAYG SIM was priced at €10 at the Vodafone store but when I did a €50 top-up they gave me the SIM at no charge. Cheers Sean

Industry Attempting To Stop DIY EVSE

I believe there is long-established precedent under English law for cases such as this; specifically: Letters of Note: Arkell v. Pressdram So, an appropriate response from Kevin might be the well-known "We refer you to the reply given in the case of Arkell v. Pressdram." :)

    Ecotricity Electric Highway

Hi all This morning I tried unsuccessfully to charge my Roadster using the Ecotricity "AC Fast Charge" point at Pease Pottage in Sussex. I was using a Tesla-supplied Mennekes cable which has always worked fine in the past, including on Ecotricity "AC Medium Charge" points. My Mennekes plug was...

    UK Long Range Charging Network

Thanks David! I have one related follow-up question: I've just registered for Ecotricity's charging network, which apparently has a 400V 32A three-phase supply through a type 2 IEC 62196 connector. Has anybody managed to charge a Roadster at an Ecotricity charge point? I know Tesla doesn't...

    UK Long Range Charging Network

A quick question about HPC charging points: what connector or cable is used? Do the charge points have their own cable that plugs directly in to a Roadster? cheers Sean

More UK Charging Networks Going Live

I've just registered for the Ecotricity network, which led me to look for a "Mennekes to Tesla Connector solution", which led me to this thread, and also to the Dutch thread that suggests Tesla owners in the Netherlands already have this cable: Trouble with charging at Dutch charging stations ...
