Installed! Austin MY C Pillars for Parcel Shelf

Definitely gonna do this. I do wonder if my 7 seater config with the 3rd row seats would be an issue. Doesn’t appear so from photos but I guess I will find out later. Haha

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Here is a better photo as well of where to bolt on the filter. One m6 each side and done. Insure the HEPA opening sits tight and seals with the air duct before bolting the thing on. There is a white rubber gasket around the bottom opening of the HEPA where it connects to the new air duct...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

First thing, for an April 2021 build that has existing threaded inserts and guide holes you would want to use M6 bolt sizing that are also 40mm in length. An M5 sizing rivet nut was used for a different 2020 build that did not have existing threaded inserts or extra holes for the guides that...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Good thing is I don’t think those clips are too important with all the white cone clips on the Apron/cowl. They are also used on the frunk tub and the part number for that clip I think is on the frunk diagram in the EPC if you did want to replace.

I think you’ll be fine and set when the parts arrive. This was my part number when I ordered and the $10 dollar pricing is what I paid. I posted a screen of my invoice somewhere in this thread.

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Regarding your story, it is funny how it has to work out with these kind of situations sometimes. Go figure. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

I'm definitely not paying $500 bucks for a button that turns my fan on to max and turns off recirculate if that ends up being true. haha

I would probably try to cancel out of that service request at this point and do another one at a later time hopefully getting a different rep or selecting a different center if possible. My experience: I didn't even put the description in for the parts when I ordered. I just put in the SKU...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

The diagram for the BDM Y AC setup still indicates that it has the two cabin filters and the Model S and X have recommended cabin filter change outs in 3 years or something along that line and it is 2 years without BDM. I would guess the cabin filters are still necessary to catch whatever could...

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

I can definitely understand your decision not to do this. Thank you for providing the build date. I wonder if this was permanently rolled out in manufacturing sometime early into 2021. I guess without enough data points it’s hard to tell currently. Also curious if Tesla didn’t already offer...

    Retrofit Texas MY parcel sherlf

I haven’t done this yet myself but looking into it I came to the same conclusion that it’s the upper C trim pieces that needs to be replaced. They are listed on the parts list but do not appear to be drawn visually on the epc diagram.

Retro-fitting HEPA filter in Model Y

Happy to share the experience to help others retrofit the filter. Yes, with the manual and all the information provided this is a relatively safe and easy install. I want to add that the small black plastic side clips attached on the fenders for the apron/cowl and frunk could break easily. Be...

Yeah, I’d imagine there should be space under to do that but definitely let us know how it goes.
