Yoke airbag line is really noticeable?

It's funny because this condition would never be accepted during PPAP process at any OEM, yet it's very common in production vehicles (all OEMs). DAB covers are a pain in the ass to produce with perfect appearance due to the critical safety nature of various dimensions which impact airbag...

    Orbital Wheel Covers

They are certainly made of plastic. Again, all I'm saying is look at literally any piece of OEM sourced wheel cover/insert/large center cap and they will all either have plastic retention features supported by metal components or are attached via the wheel lug nuts. Even on something like a...

    Orbital Wheel Covers

It'll work fine at first, but there's a reason that every wheel cover/hub cap/aero cover/wheel insert that's OEM developed uses either metal clips, a wire in the middle, a wire ring around the edge, or is held on by the metal lug nuts. Unfortunately, plastic deforms, and the heat from your...

    Orbital Wheel Covers

So there's no metal clips? If it's just plastic, this thing is done-zo after some real world use. Metal clips are used in the OEM covers to prevent creep effect. The plastic will suffer permanent deformations without metal components. No matter what resin type is used, it's not going to hold up...

    Gemini Wheel Cover plastic noise

You are likely correct here. Removing the tabs causes the cover to sit lower in the wheel, meaning less clip engagement. Doesn't mean it's going to fly off, but it does mean it wasn't validated to prove that it won't. Driving through water, snow, ect...could have the greatest effect. The...

    Gemini Wheel Cover plastic noise

The noise is created by deformations in the cover...those tabs are intended to be the contact point with the wheel (sets the datum - notice the pads on the wheel where the tabs contact). Essentially, as your wheel turns, the cover slightly deforms, which causes the tabs to lose contact with the...

    Orbital Wheel Covers

Anyone got a picture of the backside of this cover so I can see the attachment method/material call-out? Don't underestimate the amount of engineering feasibility and validation work put into the OEM versions of these aero covers...regardless of the designs that Tesla sources...

Aero Wheel cap kit - updated 2021

Tesla moved to the new center cap design so it can be removed easily from the front with no tool. Also covers the lug nuts (no need for decorative caps). You won't be seeing more of the smaller cap designs.
