Working on SoulPedal®. It's a full time challenge, but my inspiration and drive comes from Elon and the people that work at Tesla around the world. Things like "the best part is no part" and 1st principle thinking are what I try to Design and Build to. The most revealing part about Production and it's challenges is how difficult it is to replicate that prototype with minimum labor. The human is a huge variable in any production and is often the #1 root cause of product defects. Pulling myself out of this loop is quite a challenge and makes learning both interesting and relevant.
Born in Ontario Canada, lived as a dual citizen my whole life, all ages, BC Okanagan area is "home" where life got fun, and currently in Chandler Az. Picked up a BS-EET from NAU while repairing and installing audio equipment, snow skiing when I could afford it rarely.
I hired on with Intel as a Technical Training Engineer for new Manufacturing Equipment and Processes. I was in Test Engineering for a couple years, but then I caused a delay in PLCC technology, so they put me back in Training, lol.
It was mostly in Assembly/Test, started as Instructor Led and evolved into coding new Learning Tools and UI's, including Visual Learning - a Blended Learning Method. Created tools, a workshop, and a method to maintain Module level content in the Factories globally. This evolved into creating 3D learning simulations using 3D CAD from a few Equipment Suppliers for Level 2 Maintenence... which is about where I took the package. Cool data collected there, and some of the tools that I used eventually were bought by SAP as Visual Enterprise from Right Hemisphere, (but not their game simulator obviously). I had made a few animated on-line games in my eLearning years, one called Line-Item. World Class Manufacturing! was for top score and the factories loved playing it for the best yields possible. It was part of the Lean Mfg push to give them solid high level mental connections up/down stream from their Operation.
Today, I'm interested in making things with cool tools, the Tesla Factory, and curious about training robots (but haven't explored much). I haven't waterski'd in a couple years, but used to do tournament slalom (try anyway). I will ski again, deep water start... till I'm 70... before I'll need another ski... maybe.
Line Stander for the first M3 LR release, then MY->MYP, 8.2KW Solar, 2 Powerwalls, and my Garage Factory.
