How Do I Responsibly Report a Powerwall 2 Hardware Safety Defect?

You're being so cryptic about it. Just state what it is. Whether or not you disclose the mystery now or by your chosen deadline isn't going to change the fact that there is or is not a hardware flaw that can electrocute someone tomorrow or next week, or if Tesla will need to recall or repair...

How Do I Responsibly Report a Powerwall 2 Hardware Safety Defect?

Why would anyone disassemble their own PW to corroborate your claims?

    Volt meters for troubleshooting

That's a big wall of text. If you don't know which wires are AC or DC, you should probably stop tinkering. Seems there's no point to measuring all the wires you want to. You should just get a clamp meter if you want to troubleshoot something, and a Kill A Watt to plug into an outlet. If you...

A Lot of 1 minute outages?

I've had them since the beginning. Never notice them unless I look in the app.

    is this low production?

No, your math or modeling is wrong. You cannot pick a good day's production and multiply that value to estimate a year's production. Just like you can't pick an hour's production, let's say at high noon in May, and multiply that by 10h/d to estimate daily production. In May, you might get...

are insurance companies dropping folks with Tesla powerwalls?

Ok then, I hope they spied on my house last year when my premium went up, from $3000 to $4000 per year.

are insurance companies dropping folks with Tesla powerwalls?

Are we supposed to report solar install to home insurance company? Do they regularly drive around to each of their insured properties to do cursory inspections for new additions?

Discussion: Powerwall 3 [Speculation / Discussion etc]

It looks more rugged for outdoors but less fancy for indoors? Does it have vents, fans, and active cooling?

Pre PTO, self powered, mode but still drawing from grid (Home consumption reported as half of real load)

For GW, you can log in as installer and for each CT there's a checkbox option to 2x the CTs on the 240V circuits.

We're on the fence about getting solar and would love some input

It‘s the Oregon state tax credit that made it crazy cheap. My 8.16kW install done by Tesla was $16400 minus 26% tax credit, no CA state incentive.

Solar Production dropped by over half!

You're missing the daily rotation of the earth that causes the sun to move across the sky. A 400W solar panel will only produce its maximum power at ideal conditions and the sun is perpendicular to it.

    Cleaning Panels Difference

Here's production numbers before and after cleaning of my 8.16kW panels via Hurricane Hilary, similar temp low 90F. So about 5-6% difference. Before: After:

Solar production dropped ~33% after Tesla technician visit?!

Agreed. Your early numbers were wrong. A 11.2kW system, at this time of the year, under ideal conditions and panel orientation, would produce maybe 65-70kwh at most.

Requesting Help Determining if there is an issue with one of my Tesla Solar Strings

Super cool use of thermal imaging to diagnose non-producing panels.
