Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

Test successful, although I did measure some variation above the expected 62.2 up to 62.4HZ

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

Nice info! I just checked mine since I haven't heard back from Tesla and low and behold: "grid_code_overrides": [ { "name": "soc_freq_droop_config_df_max", "value": 2.2 } ] I'll do a full test killing the grid this weekend but looks good.

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

I'm still waiting for confirmation from my request last week. How did you go about confirming the new setting?

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

Just got off the phone with Tesla Energy support. They asked for my UPS model so I gave them my Cyberpower CP1000AVRLCD. I didn't ask for a specific frequency but I would expect it would be somewhere 63Hz or lower given that's the max on that UPS. They said it needs to be escalated to Level...

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

Sounds like 62.5 is a common change value but any suggestion on how to find this info about the inverters? Seems unusual they lowered to 62.0hz max?

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

Thanks for the feedback and info @gpez. I'll try to give Tesla a call soon to see about reducing the maximum frequency. Sounds like requesting 62Hz is the suggested request with them coming back at something between 62 and 63, and the number is 877 961 7652. Any other tips or corrections...

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

Same here with going with Eaton units. Yes, they're a little more but good quality UPSs (from my experience and what I've heard) and don't have to worry about contacting Tesla or other changes that might come with firmware updates. I mostly have 5S700LCDs but just picked up a Eaton 3S 350 VA...

("Normal" delivery states): Does it make a difference to wait to make final payment?

Indeed, picking up a white/black myself. Would have been more convenient to pickup tomorrow instead of having to take time off work but I'll be happy to just get it next week.

("Normal" delivery states): Does it make a difference to wait to make final payment?

That sounds about what I expected. I'm using Tesla financing so don't need that loan agreement. Probably wise to wait and bring personal check, they should make that more clear on the Tesla site that you don't need to make that final payment online prior to arriving.

("Normal" delivery states): Does it make a difference to wait to make final payment?

Yes, currently scheduled for 10:30am on Monday, crossing fingers.

("Normal" delivery states): Does it make a difference to wait to make final payment?

From what I'm reading on the forums our CO delivery centers are a little more "touchless" so I suppose making the final payment online in advance would make it a little more streamlined without having to hand over a physical check. I know the smart thing would be not to hand over final payment...

@LevelHeaded Can you follow-up on how you handled the final payment. I have delivery scheduled for Monday and am unsure if I should make final payment in advance of Monday?

Best interest rate via Tesla financing?

FWIW, applied today (with GOOD not GREAT credit rating) and offered 2.99% with TD Auto. Emailed autofinance to request improvement with Chase and was offered 2.64%, seems reasonable to me.

Best interest rate via Tesla financing?

That seems like a very good rate. Do you mind sharing (here or PM) your approximate credit score? I'm trying to determine when to submit my app while in the process of optimizing my score (it's good now but should get a slight bump in a couple weeks).

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

I have the same issue on my recently installed system. I thought I was going crazy before I found this thread. I have since replaced 3 of my 4 UPSs with the Eaton 5S700LCD. Haven't tested yet but feel confident those will work based on feedback here.
