I have had my car since April 2019. I have heard the "bang" sound only twice ever and it was on a long trip in cooler weather while supercharging.

I had the same issue, but the sound was coming from underneath the cover around where the car seat bracket was. I just temporarily stuffed some paper under there for more clearance between the cover and the metal.

I had my car a week before I got a slow leak. I had it plugged and it has been fine. I'd rather not take the chance on any accidental damage by patching the tire.
