Do I need permit for Tesla Wall Charger if I already installed a permitted 14-50 Outlet?

That's true but this person asked for differences between Wall Connectors and Mobile Chargers and I explained it, that’s all. The alternative is having a 40A circuit breaker and multiple Wall Chargers using power sharing at 32A which could use cheaper conductor wiring if you own multiple Tesla...

Do I need permit for Tesla Wall Charger if I already installed a permitted 14-50 Outlet?

I believe the latest and greatest Wall Connector allows you to build a 60A circuit which could charge your Tesla car to the maximum of 48A continously (80% of 60A) while the maximum current of Tesla Mobile Charger is 32A or 40A circuit breaker. Plus you can control the Wall Connector via WiFi...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

I see too often in many posts not saying whether the cables installed by electricians are made of copper or aluminum. This is pretty important to know. I know copper wires have higher current capacity than aluminum wires using SAME AWG wires. I believe generally speaking in typical residential...

Best way to precondition / Charge for retired people

Must be a nightmare for Tesla software engineers to maintain support for older Tesla models without affecting new models and vice versa. Peter

Best way to precondition / Charge for retired people

Are you saying because you have an older Tesla model, there are no more software updates maybe because your car is no longer compatible with latest Tesla software updates? Peter

Do I need permit for Tesla Wall Charger if I already installed a permitted 14-50 Outlet?

I did the same thing. No permit necessary.

I think I'm beginning to get the picture. Thanks to all giving good explanations about this subject. Peter

Best way to precondition / Charge for retired people

So in layman's term, definition of preconditioning is basically heating the cabin area to warm up the battery pack underneath? I didn't think heating the cabin area was enough to warm up the battery quickly enough because I would expect good enough insulation between battery pack and cabin area...

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

I started the thread to learn how to be prepared to replace 12V battery for my 2020 M3. Currently, the voltage is about 14.8V. I don't yet need a new 12V battery. I have 10 months left of warranty. I hope it fails a month before the warranty expires to get a free 12V battery from Tesla. :cool...

Best way to precondition / Charge for retired people

I was only referring to preconditioning the batteries, not necessarily warming up the cabin area. It doesn't take long to warm up the cabin area after entering inside the car. Peter

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

Oh okay. I just found out we have a local Advance Auto store as well. Thanks, Peter

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

I looked at Advance Auto web site and you have to return your old battery or you'll be charged for the core. Do you have to pay shipping for returning old batteries? Peter

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

I wonder if the charger in newer Tesla using Lithium is different than older Tesla using lead acid batteries? If all they did was software upgrade and not change the charger, I wonder if the same can be done for older Tesla to replace lead acid with Lithium batteries using software upgrade? Peter

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

Thats great news. I see one at O'Reilly web site with vent hole. It's pricey at $240. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/platinum/super-start-platinum-battery-group-size-51r/ssbq/51rplt/v/a/149433/automotive-car-2020-tesla-3?q=51R+battery&pos=0 This is AGM battery which may or may not work...

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

I didn't realized 51R batteries are found in some popular small cars like Honda. Looking at my Tesla 12V battery looks tiny compared to the large battery in my Nissan Murano. Still it does not look easy to find 51R batteries with vent holes outside of Tesla. If my local Tesla SC doesn't have...
