In case this helps anyone in the future; Called local tesla delivery specialist Friday afternoon and he emailed me everything they sent to DMV, including a copy of the manufacturer certificate of origin by this morning. Nothing but great customer service, in my few interactions with Tesla.

My accountant screwed up the initial paperwork despite my instructions and only requested $2500 (did not believe $7500 was even possible). So this comes from an amended return. I'm sure that's why they are digging deeper.

I just got a request from IRS for "valid sales contract and the manufacturer's certification" to support my credit. Has anyone had luck sending in the final delivery docs; ie, purchase agreement, delivery deceleration and a copy of title? Anyone successfully get the credit with the documents...
