    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

That's interesting. Many have bought the brakes and had them installed by their shop and nothing pops up on the info screen. The car doesn't know or can tell there's a difference. The only thing i can think of is when you do the upgrade through Tesla, the image of your X has red brakes instead...

    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

What you're showing doesn't show the cover. The red caliper in Photo 5 is the exact same caliper I have on my 22 MXP but mine is black. There is a cover that attaches that makes it look like it's twice as big, but in fact it's the same exact caliper. Edited: I see you're referencing the legacy...

    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

I just wanted to point out on the refreshed X, It is literally a cover. The rear brakes are identical. On my 22 Plaid they are Black. On my friends 23 Plaid they are red. From looking at it it looks like it 2 times the size. We removed his tire and took a closer look. It's a cover that is held...

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

I'm not sure what they are made of, but they are anodized. I got them from user Thadeus Strong on FaceBook. He's an Admin of the Tesla Plaid Performance Group on FaceBook. He also has thicker shims with bolts for lowered cars. Says it should correct up to 1.2' +/- camber. The thinner ones I...

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

I didn't measure them. This is what they look like.

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

I got some shims from a member on the Plaid performance facebook group and I was able to correct the rear 1'. I used a camber bubble level and also a digital angle finder. Got a base measurement and then an after. I'm running N2itive adjustable links set to -5 front and -7 rear. On my digital...

    Charge door not opening

I just tried it all over the side of the car and no go for me. It's been to the service center 3 times for this issue. They 've replaced the charge door, the whole assembly and then the computer. The last time they gave up and said wait for a software update. It always worked after an update...

    Upgraded to OEM Red Calipers-MXP

May I ask how much were the calipers? Thanks.

    Bird eye view

Ive dealt with patent issues and eveything points to it in Teslas case. Otherwise why not have a feature that almost all other manufacturers have? But agree to disagree. I'm off to lunch in my non birds eye view plaid on beautiful Napa day. enjoy your weekend

    Bird eye view

And what substance or backing do you have? Mine comes from the fact that 30k cars have it. Almost all manufacturers have it as an option. I'm in the business that deals with patents and decisions are made to either pay to use it or come up with another solution that doesn't violate said...

Oh my goodness. Think for a minute. If they paid for the licensing then they'd have the front camera to use it for birds eye view. They didn't so they don't need to install a front camera. Instead they come up with their own solution. It's not that hard. It's not hard man. But you have your...

    Bird eye view

No. They don't have bird eye view because they dont want to pay for the licensing. It's that simple. If a 30k car can have it why not my 160k MX Plaid? Think about that. Companies make decisions all the time based on cost and what they think they'll pay for it. I'm a software engineer and...

    Bird eye view

Oh it does have to do with a patent. They can easily add cameras especially on our $100k plus cars. It's just code stitching images together. But why when you have to pay for licensing. As soon as that patent expires, tesla will have it. If Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc can do it and have their...

The patent is owned by Bosch or Nissan. It's a matter of Tesla doesn't want to pay to use it. I think it's expiring soon. And once that happens. I'm sure it'll come to our cars. I do miss it. I loved it in my e-tron and just last week had to borrow a Sienna that had it.

Feeling a little salty about my purchase.

Awe man, sorry about your troubles. I've been through it as well. 5 service visits for various things. Fortunately nothing major. Just my charge port not opening when pressing the charger wand, been replaced once already and the road noise I can't track down. Extremely noisy on drivers side...
