    Unhappy with phantom braking

Thank you. I've been submitting bug reports intermittently as these occur as well, and earlier today re-calibrated my cameras (didn't help). If 10.2 is the fix I hope it moves out of beta-beta soon. It's ridiculous that FSD (which is a beta product) is in double-beta. I'd be happy with just...

    Unhappy with phantom braking

I have a June 2021 Tesla Vision M3LR and my car regularly drops 5-10 miles at night and alerts for no reason (especially at night). I’m on 2021.32.21. Last night I had 5 phantom braking events within a very short period and the car behind me started honking their horn. I try to catch them fast...

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

Your mileage may vary, I'd be interested in hearing about your experience. If I remember right VA has similar geography to WA so our experiences ought to be similar. I'm on the conservative software update schedule so if you do "Advanced" you'll often have patches newer than me. Story behind...

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

Ok yeah so that may explain the differences in our experiences but the Volvos still got us Teslas beat with autopilot/pilotassist. I wonder how Subaru’s autopilot is. As I understand it they are also vision-only, but I could be wrong.

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

You know, one thing that may explain our differences in experience, there are a lot of trees (casting shadows) here and a lot of hills and turns in occluded vision roads. If I remember Houston there were a lot less hills and super tall trees lining the roads casting shadows. I’m not at all...

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

I brought it up with the service guy the first week I had it. He told me that I’d receive a camera calibration message if it was the system. It’s just what it has to offer right now. I will say that I think the night time performance is definitely because of TV but I had rented a model 3 with...

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

On our Volvo (we still have one) it does the steering and the pedals so I’m basically relegated to the guy that controls the cruise control set speed. One thing I especially like over the Tesla autopilot is that it has a little more… “give” where you can nudge it a little bit more than you can...

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

It did. It works on all roads and even turns corners. Only thing it didn’t do (that Tesla autosteer “does”) is slow down around turns on its own. Here’s a video of a guy using the Volvo “autopilot” on a highway. It’s incredibly effective.

    Phantom Braking Discussion

OH god no. Dawn/dusk/nighttime and shadows are all the terrors that scare the car.

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

The problem is that AutoPilot is part of cruise control and that ruins the experience for me. Tesla cruise control doesn't just keep you at speed, it slows you down for objects it thinks are in front of you using autopilot brains. It often thinks shadows are cars. At night it thinks other cars...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I noticed that no one answered their phones at my local delivery center too. I ended up talking to the manager over the SAs when I received my car (no I didn't Karen her, we were just chatting because she's delightful). At my DC they had two prompts, one for sales and one for deliveries and they...

Updated the post. Good idea! Thank you.

Model 3 Review from a new Owner

Hey all...While you are waiting for your Tesla I thought I'd share my experience as a new 2021 LR owner with Tesla Vision because I wish I knew what it was like before I got mine. 1. Cruise control brakes ALL THE TIME at night. It seems to think any oncoming car is in your lane until it's...

    Wiper Fluid - Both Wipers?

It sure looked like it. Smart, right? What could possibly go wrong? .. Smart comments aside, there probably isn't a good spot to spew fluid in an EV and the wires were protected at least.

    Wiper Fluid - Both Wipers?

That's exactly what it was. I'm grateful for your post because I wasn't too excited to go looking for it. Once you said what I needed to do I found it. I'm posting a picture below in case someone else gets this issue.
