Aftermarket Tesla CarPlay and Android Auto Devices

Is anyone using an Ownice T3 on the latest firmware and running into phone call issues via Android Auto? If I accept phone calls via Android Auto the caller is unable to hear me. The fix to that is to just accept the call using the Tesla phone notifcation. However when it comes to making...

    AliExpress carbon fiber steering wheel

Definitely curious about the heating aspect. I want to order one but my wife thinks the bottom carbon portion will be uncomfortable to hold compared to stock.

    Sway Bars

Definitely feels less top heavy. I honestly think it should have come like this from factory. I was worried it would be significant as well but it really isn't. Feels more like the performance model.

    Sway Bars

I just installed UPP sway bars (front and rear) on my 2023 Shanghai MY long range. They're both set to street density (middle notch) and my goodness what an improvement. The car rides and handles so much better now. Feels way more planted when taking corners. Highly recommend the upgrade.

    Model Y Brake Controller

You need the tow package to get power from the harness in the driver footwell.

Aftermarket Tesla CarPlay and Android Auto Devices

I'm running TeslaMate and had to update my Docker containers because the recent location gathering API had changed. Also an Ownice user.

For those having issues with their Tesla WiFi connecting to the Ownice after upgrading to Tesla Software v2023.38.6 go make sure your Ownice software is upgraded to v2.8.15.

I power it the same way. I can also confirm you MUST have the tow package for the tow harness to provide switched power.

    Sway Bars

I have a 2023 Model Y Long Range (Shanghai Build) and one thing I'd love to improve is the amount of body roll when taking sweeping corners on the highway. Because this is still my winter mountain car I don't want to lower it on coilovers as it already has minimal ground clearance to begin...

Aftermarket Tesla CarPlay and Android Auto Devices

Just wanted to update on my power situation. I went with the DROK buck converter which worked perfectly on my 2023 MY with a 16v battery. This combined with switched power from the tow hook has made the Ownice an even smoother experience now. Thanks again for the recommendation @Mandingo...

Aftermarket Tesla CarPlay and Android Auto Devices

I know this is directed at Mandingo but this is my experience. 1. Yes, I leave my car disconnected from my home wifi to avoid confusion for when the Ownice boots up. 2. Main downside is software updates like you called out, but I just simply connect my wifi, do the update, and then forget it...

Aftermarket Tesla CarPlay and Android Auto Devices

I reached out to the OwniceAiBox chat on Telegram and asked the same question and the response was: "It doesn't support google assitant, google assistant requests a microphone inside the T3 box, which it doesn't have." I also asked about Tesla voice commands which don't work either. "If you...

Heh we clearly have the same thought process in mind. I currently have laser jammers running off of it. Next will be the R7 detector and finally the Ownice. I added an inline fuse just to be safe as well.

Thanks I've ordered one directly from their website since Amazon is showing it as unavailable. Hopefully this does the trick!

Can anyone recommend a reliable 16v to 5v buck converter? I tried a cheap Chinese 12v to 5v converter so that I could hardwire it to the tow harness but it wouldn't power up. I tested a dashcam to confirm the power was working which it was.
