Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don’t think it will be a flop. It is unique and actually capable of truck things. We have pivoted away from it for a variety of reasons but not really any fault of the truck. (We still have our reservation 😂) I just think a smaller mid sized offering might be something tesla could be good...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

If Rivian does go down though the market could certainly use a nice conventional truck like the RIT or R2. The cybertruck is definitely not everyone’s cup of tee.

I’m not American and haven’t lived there in awhile but curious. Can trump not just stop the 7500 dollar credit program thingy next January or is it somehow protected? Just curious.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Reading on X that the German terrorism attack on the tesla factory is now expected to cost tesla in the 3 digit millions of dollars. And no expected restore date yet. I still think Tesla needs to look at providing its own power infrastructure for the German factory. Now that the terrorists who...

Well , they’ll have to figure it out. 😎. Somebody will step up to the plate.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Kinda wondering if France won’t replace the US as the NATO big boy on the block after the US elections this year. They seem to be interested in assuming that role.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Going forward, knowing it’s operating a factory in a hostile environment in germany, I wonder if there is a path to autonomous power supply thru a combination of solar, wind, large diesel or natural gas turbines. Might be a worthwhile investment. Just sayin.

Are other brands now supporting the growth of the network directly?

For a guy who hasn’t been paid for six years I’m kinda surprised he still shows up to work. 😊. I haven’t heard a peep on whether any action is being taken on a new compensation plan, or if there will even be one. The board seems pretty silent on what the plan is…if there even is one. 😱. Elon...

So anyone care to speculate on the range improvements a model X will get?

Any rumours on additional range for juniper yet?

Well, people definitely have more viable choices now though. One of our neighbours has always wanted a Mach E but didn’t want to get one because of lousy non tesla charging facilities. Once he saw the news this morning he was on the way to the local dealer to see what they have for deals on...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Curious re this tesla supercharger opening to ford customers. Some are saying that one must use the ford supplied adapter (which comes from Tesla). If the adapter is just a straight thru how would tesla know if you are using an adapter from someone else like A2Z? Also, if tesla is supplying...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Facebook is lit up today about the ford access to superchargers. I wonder if the ford adapter would work on any brand. Then again, I think some kind of certificate still has to handle the plug and play side. Hmmmm.

    Model Y Brake Controller

Yes. Having said that, where travel trailers are concerned, usually there are solar panels on the roof of the trailer. Not a thing for utility trailers with brakes though. I suppose that could be an issue.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Informative thought provoking post. Thanks for taking the time to write it. We could all use some optimism right now. 👍👍

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Agreed that this will probably wake up Europe to the fact that they can only count on themselves. The US is no longer a reliable partner. As well, it’s very possible that the US will fall without firing a shot, and next January Europe could very well be looking at a US Russia alliance. At that...

It will be interesting to see how this procedure changes if the USA drops out of NATO next January.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Realistic. I kinda thought that’s how it goes on ramp ups. Margins get better as the line speeds up. What do I know. 😂

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yah I get some of that. But I think the 318 refers to EPA range. I got the impression from some of the reviewers that real highway range was closer to 250 miles. Or maybe I misunderstood. Re the extended range battery. That would work for us. But I haven’t seen any reviews from anyone that has...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yah I get that. Nothing wrong with making profit off of a high demand item. And I suspect at least initially the margin will not be great, which is kind of to be expected on a new model. I wish there was more info on the extended battery though. I have been watching for but haven’t seen any...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Cybertrucks do kind of have sucky range for a truck though. I mean I love it. But anyone we know who was planning on buying it as a truck is not going thru with it. It’s not really any worse or better for range than any other EV truck. But 250 miles or so or 125 ish towing, and slow charging...

Yah. I couldn’t find a breakout number for RIT and R1S. Although it’s really more about the R1T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Rivian is currently producing about 194 vehicles per day. It will be interesting to see how fast Tesla Cybertruck catches up to and exceeds that number. My completely unqualified guess is August this year. Jmho.

I noticed the performance model 3 has disappeared from the tesla page. (At least in Canada). What’s up with that?

If anyone comes across tech specs of the new 160 still supercharger in Kern county on i5 I would love to see them. Eg. Expected solar production and storage numbers etc. Pretty cool. Great advertising really.

MY 2024/2025 Refresh - Project Juniper?

Good link and interesting read. Disappointing that they are not giving the long range all wheel drive more range. We would love to see a 100 kWh pack or at least a 600 kilometer EPA rating. That would generate a sale from us. Jmho v

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Yah I hear ya. It’s tough to keep these posts non political, but politics and more to the point American politics will have a profound affect on the outcome of the Ukraine war. The thread is about the Ukraine war. It’s impossible to discuss the outcome without discussing the American people’s...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Doomsday scenario? No. Just going by the polls and what the candidates are saying. Europe and Ukraine need to react accordingly. In my opinion they probably will.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I think this may cause Nato members in general to step up both direct support for Ukraine as well preparation for a conflict between a US supported Russia against nato allies. I think it’s pretty clear to everyone that the Americans will be leaving NATO and forming some sort of alliance with...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Curious question. Our neighbour caught us using summons to park our car in our garage today. (We have a project in the garage and it’s tight for opening the door so we are just using summon to put it in and out of the garage for a few days). He asked me if all teslas come standard with that and...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Good post. I would love to see an AWD model Y with trailer towing package and an additional 20 percent of range. We would buy it immediately. But I don’t get the impression that tesla feels longer range vehicles are desirable to customers. I think the cybertruck is evidence of this. Jmho

    Model Y Brake Controller

The emergency braking comes from the trailer’s battery. Not the car.

There was a link that one could click and see the daily number of bins registered or something like that. I followed it for awhile and then it quit working. I wonder if there is some critical piece with availability problems. Definitely taking longer than i expected to get past 100 a day.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I wiukdvthi I would think this is a pretty good indicator of how things will go when trump is president. Carlson and trump are pretty tight and I can see this being a prep for a US Russian alliance against Ukraine. I can see the US sending considerable arms supplies to Russia to end the war...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yah. Agreed. Tesla is a great company that has achieved some great things. But as an investment it’s done until Elon is no longer with the company. His focus now is politics and social media. Nothing wrong with that if that’s what he wants to do with his life but shareholders and investors...

    FSD discussion

Our biggest problems with 11.4.9 is merging on an on ramp. We have three local ramps like that. On two it will fail and take the ditch every time. On the 3rd it kind of gets it right about half the time. A year ago all three were perfect. I think it may have something to do with warn lines on...
