Model Y vs Mustang Mach E

Once you get over the initial issues, you most likely won't see the service center much. It's just dealing with them initially that's frustrating, even if they're located near by.

Model Y vs Mustang Mach E

Don't quote me on this, but I don't believe it prevents them from opening a service center, just deliveries. My state doesn't allow direct sales but there is a service center.

Model Y vs Mustang Mach E

One issue Tesla still has is limited service centers in some areas. I have a friend looking at buying a Tesla but from Myrtle Beach, it's 2-3 hours to the nearest service center.

Model Y vs Mustang Mach E

I think if they could get more batteries and semiconductors, they would sell more. A lot of people don't like the Y styling, and prefer the traditional dealer network for service. Many hate Elon and want nothing to do with Tesla products. Ford is selling Mach-E to those types of people.

Best glass cleaner and it's readily available at most brick and mortar stores.

Model Y vs Mustang Mach E

I think karma is biting them in the butt. Before the first deliveries were made, they laughed at the Tesla quality issues, which were one-offs out things that don't occur often, such as windows shattering, a bumper coming off in the rain, fit/finish issues, etc. With only 30k-40k delivered...

DIY Ceramic coating - don't waste money with a pro

This stuff works great in stripping wax, is really cheap, and readily available at most chain auto parts stores and Walmart. You can either use it with a foam cannon or by a wash mitt by hand. Their APC is also good and inexpensive. It'll need to be diluted depending on what it's being used...

DIY Ceramic coating - don't waste money with a pro

This is usually how I do it. Wash and clay on a Friday night, Saturday morning do the paint correction and the rest of the process. I'm not 21 any longer and breaking it into smaller chunks of work is easier on the body.

    FS: Model 3 & Y Uberturbine 20" Wheels, Tires, & TPMS

yeah, those tires are narrow and the load rating is 1389 lbs, which is on the low side for a Y. Two 200 lb passengers in the front would be 2600 lbs of load on the front axle. These tires would max at 2778.

Dragy runs for my 2021 MY LR 7 seat 19" Geminis w/tow

Yeah, I haven't seen much variation between 68-85% SoC. I find battery temp is more of a factor, 50F vs 105F.

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Yeah, for me, it's still harsh at lower speeds but floaty at higher speeds. I don't think we can soften it too much due to the spring rates, but, the better shocks help soften the ride at higher speeds.

Dragy runs for my 2021 MY LR 7 seat 19" Geminis w/tow

Those runs were completely stock. I've since upgraded to MPP coilovers and 20" aftermarket wheels and stickier summer tires, but I haven't done any runs since then. Not many good spots in my area that are flat and with little traffic.

Dragy runs for my 2021 MY LR 7 seat 19" Geminis w/tow

Here's my 1/4 run where I let off early. SoC was 79%.
  24. pt19713

Dragy runs for my 2021 MY LR 7 seat 19" Geminis w/tow

Your mph is a little lower than mine, which is odd. My 1/8th is 8.00 @ 93mph, 1000' 10.29@ 105.79. I let off the accelerator at the end a little early, so my mph is low, 12.30 @ 107.15 mph.
  25. pt19713

Dragy runs for my 2021 MY LR 7 seat 19" Geminis w/tow

The traction control can be very finicky, dialing back the power slightly and causing the variation. In my runs, I've gotten anywhere from 3.9 to 4.2 (1 ft rollout) on my 2020 LR Y w/ AB, stock 19" Continentals, SoC varying from 68-85%. I tested on a few bad surfaces (lots of little rocks) and...

Dragy runs for my 2021 MY LR 7 seat 19" Geminis w/tow

That car is an anomaly. I've never seen any other LR Y run faster than 4.6s stock. Owner most likely had a 980 motor and didn't realize it.

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

Yeah, 19s are a good compromise for looks and handling. Range isn't an issue since we have a Long Range Y that is used for longer drives. The M3P typically won't see trips of more than 150 miles roundtrip, so an extra 20-30 Wh/mi is no big deal.
  28. pt19713

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

The original plan was to downsize to 19". It was a matter of finding a used set of wheels in the region, powdercoat them and put on all-weather tires, but I found a set of TST wheels with Pirelli Sotozero III winter tires, so the stock 20" Uberturbines will stay on the car for the warmer...

Pro Tip: Setting the climate 71F or lower uses less energy in hot weather

In Auto mode, the recirculation symbol is a light/opaque blue, not the normal darker solid blue if you select it manually. Doesn't this mean it's going to use fresh & recirculation as needed?
  32. pt19713

Pro Tip: Setting the climate 71F or lower uses less energy in hot weather

One thing you're forgetting is the car is using other accessories to cool the battery pack, depending what the battery pack temp was after you finished the charging session. With ambient temps around 90-95F in my area the last week, I'm seeing battery pack temps of 105-109F. The car is pulling...

    Battery Pre-conditioning question

It will if there's enough energy to pre-condition and get to the destination. In the image below, I parked into the Supercharger spot and took a screenshot. It shows battery at 10%, front and rear Stator motors pulling 3.0 kW each. This was pre-2021.4.11. Post 2021.4.11, the battery pack...

    Battery Pre-conditioning question

Update 2021.4.11 made changes and can start preconditioning much sooner than what it did previously. It all depends on the ambient and battery pack temp. I've had it start preconditioning 50 minutes from the supercharger in sub 40F temps. It'll shut off the Stator motors as needed and will start...

My Model Y Range....is really good.

I think what he was trying to convey is preconditioning gets the cabin to temp and the energy /fan speed is lower than jumping into a vehicle with the fans at full blast. The trip meter only shows the energy use while in Drive. If you precondition and the a/c is only pulling 500 watts at a 3...

Anyone regret buying the Acceleration Boost for their Model Y?

A harness to tap into the CAN bus, and a Bluetooth OBDII reader. If you go to the Scan My Tesla site, they'll link where you can purchase the harness. I bought the reader from Amazon.

I'm finding my LR makes similar power output between 68-85%, the difference being about 10 hp. Numbers are from the Scan My Tesla app.
