Are the Tesla sales people allowed to just completely lie to you?

Rivian honored old prices when they raised the msrp because buyers were so pissed. (Tesla does this as a matter of course) There is something to be said about business practices towards customers. I'm over this thread, because it's just going to work me up thinking about it. 😄

    EV6 to a Model Y

Really nice observations. When we were shopping EV's, we drove the GV60, EV6 and Ioniq 5. All three are small inside. The Y is far more practical, and spacious feeling. Though, if you are single or dinks, maybe not a concern. I would consider them in between the M3 and MY in space and...

Are the Tesla sales people allowed to just completely lie to you?

it's not about making every single buyer happy. Many stores will price match sales within a short window. It's about recognizing and keeping customer loyalty. Yeah and like I said, i'm moving on.

Are the Tesla sales people allowed to just completely lie to you?

This. If Tesla did this simple thing, I would 100% be happy they thought about their customers. I'm pretty furious just thinking about this scenario and we just have to chalk it up to losing a lot of goodwill towards Tesla But, nothing to do but go on with life.

I just got the update but it is 2022.44.30 Haven't noticed much difference. turn indicator stalk still has 3 flash or full turn signal fan speed all looks the same, nothing new apple music option which I didn't mess with yet nav has larger turn by turn, and a little turn by turn window...

    Spare Tire Installed!

With a stock 5th, you'll be lugging around more than double the weight of a spacesaver. It's a good idea, but maybe the compromises would overshadow the 'emergency' use of it.
  8. E

    Spare Tire Installed!

Just to add to this: the reason blowouts (complete tire failure, shredded tire) happen on road trips is simply because the chances of a flat happening at high speed is much greater since most of your time will be above 60mph. Even a nail puncture can turn into a shredded tire by the time you...

We must face facts - meat is the problem

yeah you're right, nothing wrong with gmo and meat is just the same as chemically processed oils. Oh well.

We must face facts - meat is the problem

@mspohr You've posted a lot of interesting links and info. I hope that Tony Seba is correct. The beef industry, the corn industry... I mean just about everything is so destructive. Our system is just lobbyists with policy makers in their pockets. There are many ingredients that are widespread...

    Spare Tire Installed!

Please do not strap a wheel to your back seat like that. A headrest is not a stable hardpoint to tiedown with. Hook to hard points and do not allow play. Strap it down on the floor and stack soft goods on top of it. That's a large weight and better safe than convenient.

    Unbiased 2-month review of 2022 Model Y

although not ideal, voice commands to control fan works too. Better than searching around the screen when driving. No update for me yet, but fan speed quick access will be welcome.

Inspecting car the day prior to 'Delivery' date

Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Tesla gives you a 100mile window for QC to report issues. You shouldn't make an appt right away since there might be something that you notice while driving or 50 miles down the road. We were very happy with the transaction process.
  14. E

Inspecting car the day prior to 'Delivery' date

It doesn't matter. Everyone has the same window of time regarding defects and problems. The point is, there is no need to rush or do extra visits or work as a customer.

Charging on 110 line in cold weather?

The fact it dropped it to 7A is very good. Even with a dedicated outlet, I never set it above 10a just because I'm cautious. I'm glad to see the car does this without manual intervention.
  16. E

Inspecting car the day prior to 'Delivery' date

I had the car delivered and they were great. Helped us setup everything and answered questions. You have a window to raise any issues so there is no rush.

    MYP vs Genesis GV60

I like the GV60 but like the Ioniq5/Ev6 it's got a few dealbreakers for me: 1. It's a bit small as our main suv. They are really sportback wagons, which is great. Just prefer the Y's practicality. 2. Dealerships. I can't deal with the nonsense and markups. The Genesis dealers around me are...

Tesla FSD Beta Twitter Drama from Elon Musk

Is complaining about the complaining about the complaining better than the original complaining itself?

Preconditioning Vs. Climate on: Whats the difference?

I have scheduled climate in my app for the mornings. I don't have the charger plugged in and it really doesn't matter if you do. For example, this morning 42f. It warmed up per scheduled climate preconditioning (no charger) and I get full regen right away. Without preconditioning, partial regen.

Tesla FSD Beta Twitter Drama from Elon Musk

That clip is a good representation of Tesla's challenge. It's all customer service based. The podcasters have no concept of the technology (nor should they) and come at it with a lot of assumptions, false logic leapfrogging and frustration because of it. Elon's tweet is essentially correct...

    Roof rack loading limit?

total dynamic load is 165lbs with everything-rack included. I would not get anywhere close to that. if 165 is the static load then dynamic load would be much less, maybe a third of that. Double check if 165 is dynamic or static rating *per Tesla's rack manual- 165lbs is load + rack. Total...

Brand new car exterior prep work - what to do?

I use that on my truck. Price is right :) Project Farm did some tests and I think Nu Finish did really well. I also like Meguair's, 3M for quality waxes and car care products. I think you get great results and easy to work with. (NF is also easy)

Brand new car exterior prep work - what to do?

In socal and feel similar as well with long lasting cars. wait a few months if you're going to ppf. Make sure the paint is fully cured. These cars are not sitting around on lots. They are fresh from the assembly line to your door. wash and glaze, if you want the shine. Don't seal it with wax...

Is Tesla Y better than other all electric SUVs?

I saw a spy photo of a camo next get M3, with conjecture there will be cameras in the headlights (adding two more cameras) The location would make sense. It's possible this is the way they will move forward with teslavision. But if that is the case, they would have to go back and retrofit...

Is Tesla Y better than other all electric SUVs?

Nobody besides Tesla is making money on EV's. Tesla is just so far ahead in manufacturing and technology. If they only invested back into improving quality quarter over quarter... we would have vault like Y's and 3's running around. The best any manufacturer is doing is maybe 5% per unit...

I've seen a half dozen R1T's running around and a couple R1S's. Gorgeous machines.

Is Tesla Y better than other all electric SUVs?

I believe it's already out. I've seen a few around town, not dealer plates. MY is a completely different class of vehicle. It's around $25,000 less and much smaller.

Is Tesla Y better than other all electric SUVs?

I didn't attack you nor call you any names. and you didn't put up anything yourself to comment on besides the videos. Is Tesla Y better than other all electric SUVs?

LOL that's funny you (and the other member) cite the two clickbaity ev youtubers. Viking and this guy. This guy used to have an open mind, and then went full negative and self-righteous. I guess he got views so he went all in. ID4 is a good product, good value for a ev suv. I would have no...
  36. E

Is Tesla Y better than other all electric SUVs?

naw, don't even listen to that viking guy. clickbait videos. No one is close to Tesla in software or technology. Chinese or otherwise. ID4 is doing very well and has enough road users with enough miles to say it's a competitive product.

Is Tesla Y better than other all electric SUVs?

Ford Mustang Mach-E - only EV not recommended by CR. Some electronic issue owners claim is fixed. But i've read a lot of problems, lemon buybacks and bricked cars while researching. Volkswagen ID.4 - great value and package. Terrible capacitive touch controls but definitely a great choice...

    New Model Y owner

Tesla key card is waterproof. It's RFID. it's passive, no charge. If you're still worried about it, get a rfid ring and wear that with a easier to carry form factor. That Volvo fob is is bulky af. Tesla's is much more elegant and a card is easy to carry.
  39. E

    PPF Yes or No?

paint is the protection. get the front mudflaps and wait. Teslas are coming fresh off the assembly line to your doorstep. They aren't sitting on lots. That paint should not be waxed or sealed right away. Glaze it at most and let it fully cure. Let the new car excitement wear off and see how...

    Terrible brake noise when reversing

Do you leave the car with the parking brake on? Not P but red P circle (hold down the shift button) It could be that the parking brake is not releasing properly or is jammed. This could make a noise in reverse and then disengage going forward. Even in P, the caliper may be siezed and causing...

    Camera-Based Detection

If i'm understanding your post, mine came with sentry on by default. turned it off for home (there is a checkbox in the security settings for this) anywhere else I go, the sentry mode is on. I assume you have to set your 'home' in the navigation? Or it just knows through your app? Not sure...

Tesla replacing ultrasonic sensors with Tesla Vision

what are you on about? You want to "win" speculative arguments on the internet? You are the one attacking and mischaracterizing and misrepresenting my posts. Not the other way around. I'll have a civil discourse, and discuss and have conjecture (from me, and others. Conjecture isn't a bad word).

Roof box: Thule Motion XT vs Yakima GrandTour?

one thing you should think about on the Y is the length will affect how you mount it. The roof is curved quite a bit. Too long a box, it may tilt nose up, and severely affect aerodynamics. If the rails are not height adjustable, maybe a bit of thought on this is good. Though there may be many...

Tesla replacing ultrasonic sensors with Tesla Vision

Actually you said "i have faith" and you weirdly continue to say that. Eto Demerzel said: I don't understand why Tesla owners are so antagonistic and not willing to have an open discussion, especially when it's pretty much all conjecture. Yeah, I said it's all conjecture- that would be...

Roof box: Thule Motion XT vs Yakima GrandTour?

cant remember i think it's the L XL would be way long for the Tesla. Thule mounting is like a jaw clamp- super easy Havent tried the Yak.
  46. E

Roof box: Thule Motion XT vs Yakima GrandTour?

I have a Thule Motion XT and it's great. I like it better than Yakima, though they are both pretty good. Grand tour is probably more aero since it tapers pretty sharp at the front. Conversely, that eats up a lot of usable space inside. It's great how much stuff you can fit inside the Thule and...

3/4 the length and overall dimensions of a loaded semi is not made by Tesla... which may or may not be relevant since it's entirely speculation The technology could also be for HW4. I don't understand why Tesla owners are so antagonistic and not willing to have an open discussion, especially...
