Unhappy with FSD sales and pricing

I understand the pain for early adopters but folks like me who recently purchased at a premium would be left out. my 2 cents - open it up with beta acknowledgement (alter terms so that it could be removed if misused). As a software developer/tester/manager/leader - I would think I could offer...

New Uberturbine wheels coming to Model 3

I think they look good. Surprised they didn't add the factory rear 3rd window tint to complete the look.

Post if you actually purchased the EAP?

I also purchased as a ladder to FSD. I'm happy with it, but the $5K upgrade to FSD should have been disclosed upfront. I assumed with the $8K FSD ( EAP would be $4k, FSD would be $4k). I bet simply splitting the difference to $4K would have increased the conversion to FSD. They've created a...

Supercharger - King of Prussia, PA

Regardless of permits, King of Prussia has always been targeted by Tesla as a "coming soon" Supercharger location. King of Prussia, PA | Tesla Back in 2016 with my Model S, I never imagined it would be Sept-2020 with nothing in the vicinity...that "coming soon" has a odd definition.

Supercharger - King of Prussia, PA

There's always been a King of Prussia (coming soon) on the Tesla website though...for many, many years... My 2 cents is that someone has dropped the ball for the region. If peco or the state are slowing the process, the public should know about it.

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I noticed a new Frunk Foot sensor is now available. Anyone install it or have any insight to the install process?

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

sorry, I don't have a pic but take my word it's an easy connection once you drop the glove box trim. Just use a 1/4" ratchet with a 3 or 4" extension. Loosen the nut and slide the blade lead underneath. Tighten back up.

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

That seemed to be a important power connection, I avoided it as it seems to be used often during battery service. The front passenger connection is really easy to get to.

    Wrapped my calipers... badly

Ahh got, very cool. Since your going to that level, I would powder coat them for peace of mind or get some red OEM Performance S Calipers. Thanks wasn't aware of the retrofit kit.

    Wrapped my calipers... badly

looks good, better than the plastic covers. Why Model S calipers? I assume you are doing this for your Model S before the 3?

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

The lack of communication with Hansshow is troubling, ordered the Frunk kit on the 18th, no invoice, no status, no returned emails. I realize these are crazy times right now but no excuses for not returning emails or providing estimated ship dates. Nor should you receive a used, damage kit at...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

It's hard to see from the diagram but it's a threaded bolt attachment. Easy to see once you remove the trim. Look for the wire bundle to locate the bolt (red arrow line).

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

I left the speaker attached, tray just hangs down when you disconnect the light. From the picture it looks like you need remove the pins from the connector. Once removed reattach the wires and slide the pins back in. I didn't need to change the trunk closing strength setting but I did need to...

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

YouTube videos are all over the place in regard to power connections (passing through the door trim didn't make sense to me). I went with the product diagram of under the glove box - right side foot well. Connects to a existing power screw.

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

i attached the ground in the back by the amp and the power was surprisingly easy - passenger foot well on the right side. Well worth it, for some reason I always felt embarrassed closing the trunk by hand at grocery stores :)

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

Not as bad as it seems at first. Start with the lower trims first and work your way up, and remember to do both sides. The airbag trim just hangs in place once pulled off. Also, pushing the connector out of its tab helps.

    HANSSHOW Trunk Liftgate v3 install

Installed the Trunk kit last night...I ended up routing through the lights, couldn't figure out how to fish the wires through without removing the bumper cover. I'll prb add a dab of sealant around the wire. Worst part was removing the rear seat trim and back cover, especially with a white...

    Acceleration Boost Upgrade

I continue to hope for a second $2K boost to a performance (non-track) level.
  26. K1Woods

What did you name your Tesla?

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned but wouldn't it be cool if Tesla named the car for us. Each car delivered uniquely named, similar to the 80's Beanie Baby collectable fad. I think that would be cool and a nice surprise on delivery day, unless you get a bad name of course. :) ArcaBlue

Performance vs. Performance Upgrade - Confused

Agreed, it seems they want to boost the SaaS model - removing the previous +2K stealth will most likely accelerate the LR boost purchases. I'm surprised we haven't see any other upgrade options by now though. Side note, also surprised by the lack of available store upgrades...wheels, spoilers...

    Pocket Lights

I posted this on another thread. Here is a quick iphone pic of the pocket light with led/wiring of my front door ('20 LR AWD). The LED lights are in all door pockets. I'm not sure why they aren't enabled. My only guess is that they will get a independent ambient software switch at some point.

2020 model year Model 3 discussion

Unless something changes at the current pricing, I'm not sure why anyone would buy a (performance model without the upgrade option) over the (Long Range with Boost). To ensure safety and optimize the cars additional performance levels, I think you would need the performance tire tread, larger...

Anyone here get a refund for Acceleration Boost?

Once you drive the car after the refund, I think you might regret it...the boost is more than 0 to 60 stomps, it has a overall impact on how the car handles and feels. Whenever I get a hint of buyers remorse, I just select chill mode for a few minutes...it removes remorse quickly. It's by no...

Model 3 Performance ----- New Options as of Today, range change??? Stealth?

I still don't understand why Tesla didn't just add the performance Accel upgrade option to the Long Range model with a price bump (~+$4k). Leaving the performance line as is with higher top speed, track mode, perf. brakes/wheels/spoiler, etc. This would also mean offering incremental levels of...

2020 model year Model 3 discussion

    2020 Model 3 and differences from 2019

Good video! when discussing the frunk mat @ 2min mark, you mention a hard metal plate underneath. That plate has also been removed in later models. Seems to be some sort of lightweight reinforcement. I imagine its no longer needed, wonder if the tub is thicker.

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

un·der·line verb 1. draw a line under (a word or phrase) to give emphasis or indicate special type: "certain phrases had been underlined" synonyms underscore, mark, pick out, emphasize, highlight, ... more Nothing to emphasize with just a underline. Emulate Engine Noise - Agree or Disagree?

Found this clip of the etron PWS/External Sound.

Emulate Engine Noise - Agree or Disagree?

Right, I'd prefer the sound be internal cabin only using the audio sound system (assuming configurable Off/On). The PWS is fine as is with the current small speaker upfront for low speed, otherwise silent. Full time external sound would prb. need a bass freq. chamber type addition e.g. BMW i8...

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

A official Tesla declaration of a chrome underline for the Acc. Boost, with the matching dual motor chrome underline displayed on the "About your Tesla" Screen would be perfect IMHO. "Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

of course there are ideal conditions required to hit the best time measurements. Also, keep in mind that every car is in a different state of condition, so recorded times will vary a bit. When evaluating value, I think its the delta between measurements that matter the most (pre versus post...

I've heard you state this several times but I don't think you have provided any supporting info. Please charge to around 90% and provide a screen image of your app charging screen. if it shows 280 @ 90%, its 310 @ 100% SOC. Hoping it is 320, 322. Thanks

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

Adding, I've also noticed the boost has a pronounced impact on overall drivability - car does seems lighter. Backing up in reverse hold seems smoother too. it's not just off the line acceleration, useful in everyday situations (merging, out of corners, passing, etc.) Just my 2 cents...
