    Tesla Service Going Downhill

How can you go downhill when you’ve always been at the bottom of it?
  2. G

Is the steering wheel retrofit available right now?

It is “available”. Meaning you can purchase it under the upgrades section. No indication of lead time for install.
  3. G

Total loss with Tesla insurance - would I get a comparable used Tesla?

Haha! Good luck. If you are expecting your insurance to make you whole again, I’ll assume this is the first time you’ve needed to use it and you are in for a big surprise.
  4. G

I planned to immediately replace the yolk/yoke, but now having mild second thoughts.

There’s no real benefit in getting rid of the yoke since a round replacement will still lack proper horn and stalk placement.
  5. G

Model S refresh, how do I know?

The refresh happened around 6/21. But you can tell for sure by looking at the photos to see if there is a yoke instead of a steering wheel.
  6. G

    How had is alignment?

They turned away your business. Whatever the reason is, find another shop.
  7. G

Total loss with Tesla insurance - would I get a comparable used Tesla?

That’s not how insurance works. They will cut you a check and you can buy whatever you want. You don’t get to swap vehicles.

Too good to be true? 2021 MS Plaid, low miles, $80G??

It is a reasonable to good price assuming the age and mileage

2020 Tesla Model X Long Range Plus Trade Value

Based on that color, I think $46K is generous. Remove the wrap and you may have better luck.

Used Model S vs New Model Y

Get the Y. Why would you buy a Legacy MS with old battery tech, that is no longer receiving material updates?
  12. G

Too good to be true? 2021 MS Plaid, low miles, $80G??

Why don’t you call the dealer and ask? No one here can answer these questions for you.

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

LOLZ at FSD take rate being 19%. You really are out of touch.

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

Explain to me how a Tesla, which is a rolling piece of technology, is any different? People upgrade to get the newest Matrix headlights which aren’t even enabled, FFS.

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

Okay. Cool story. So I’ll also ask you the same question; what % of iPhone users are currently using an iPhone 6S in 2023? As of 2018 it was 13% and this was when the iphoneX was the latest model. In the last 5 years I’m sure that % has fallen off a cliff. So what, exactly, was your point...
  16. G

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

The only thing you demonstrated was your inability to realize I was posing a question rather than making a statement. I asked what percentage of 2014 Model S and roadsters were still on the road in 2023. You did not provide an answer. You posted some nonsense about roadster battery longevity...

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

So you didn’t address the question and used the scientific figure of “plenty”. Cool story though.

Tesla Y LR: no accident & no change but Geico premium up 40% Jan. 23 to Jun. 23 in CA

You’re right. It’s a conspiracy. Against you, personally. That’s why your rates went up.
  19. G

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

Dude. That’s one car. What percentage of 2014 Teslas are still on the road? What percentage of original Roadsters are still on the road? Exactly.

Tesla Y LR: no accident & no change but Geico premium up 40% Jan. 23 to Jun. 23 in CA

If you know the answer, why are you asking the question? Tesla’s get broken into frequently and are very costly to repair if they are in an accident. It’s not a conspiracy. Insurance carriers need to mitigate their risk.

How long till I can get this One Gemini Battery in my model Y?

The market demand isn’t there. What’s the market for replacement EV batteries on a new vehicle? Almost non-existent. What’s the market on 10 year old vehicles? Almost non-existent. People are just buying a new vehicle with new tech, better build quality, and the latest battery tech. This is a...

How long till I can get this One Gemini Battery in my model Y?

You think they are going to sell “millions” of these when they don’t even have a price listed? Sounds like wishful thinking to me.
  24. G

Insurance for 23 Model 3 at $220 monthly, good or no?

Insurance rates are both personal and regional. That’s about double what I pay for my MS Plaid, but I also don’t live in CA. All you can do is shop around and compare. No one here can really answer the question for you.
  25. G

Tesla Y LR: no accident & no change but Geico premium up 40% Jan. 23 to Jun. 23 in CA

I can tell you the reason. All the smash and grabs have an impact on premiums. It has nothing to do with *your* policy. There is simply more risk for the carrier to insure that particular vehicle in your state.

Looking to buy PLAID model S 2021

You may be able to find a LR for that price. Good luck.

My car doesn't work anymore, could it be the battery?

No they do not. They charge an hourly rate, just like any other mechanic shop. What you are seeing is merely an estimate. It may be more, it may be less. Hourly rates are clearly posted in every SC I have ever stepped foot in. Again, no they don’t. At least not the way you are making it sound...

Anyone ever filed a credit card dispute with Tesla?

Yep. I have filed a dispute for a vehicle and solar deposit. Got my money back both times and no adverse impact.
  29. G

My car doesn't work anymore, could it be the battery?

Just because you buy a car from a dealership, doesn’t mean it has a warranty. OP is in FLA and there is no lemon law on used vehicles. I wouldn’t expect any dealer down there to assist. The time for due diligence is before the sale. If OP really wants to, they can try and sue the dealer. But...

My car doesn't work anymore, could it be the battery?

So, to be clear, they gave you an estimate and you don’t want to pay to have it fixed. Best of luck.

Are you refusing to make a service appointment on purpose?
  32. G

Legacy Model S nice to haves

The answer to all these questions is because it is not profitable to perform these types of upgrades and divert resources from building new vehicles. That’s it.

    15 85D steering wheel vibration

Take it someplace other than Tesla to have the issue diagnosed. In my experience, they could not be bothered with anything that doesn’t throw a code or is not visually obvious.

    The agony of a 10yo Model S 85 with 300 000+ km

    My 2014 Model S died again… needs a 3rd HV battery! (No warranty left)😩

Tesla isn’t making any “new” battery packs for a 2014 Model S. In fact, you purchased a vehicle with probably the worst battery technology they had. New batteries, such as those found in the 3/Y/Refreshed Model S *may* have the type of longevity you refer to but no one can truly say since they...

    Trailer hitch on 2021 refresh?

The MX/MS hitch is not a VIN restricted part. Contact the Service Center manager if they are giving you a hard time about it.

Tesla Bjorn Has Moved to Mercedes

Has anyone had Tesla renege on a offer?

I hear you. I think they would rather be sued/taken to small claims court than work it out with you. I may be wrong, but over the years I have never personally experienced what I would consider anything reasonable from them. But as soon as something comes across the desk of the legal...

Has anyone had Tesla renege on a offer?

I think at this point, after being in business for so long and after all the horror stories people post here, yes; it is unreasonable to expect Tesla to “do the right thing”. They will do *anything* to weasel themselves out of a situation that involves them not maximizing profits. A cursory...
