No, it will not be fixed, because that is how hatch-back trunks work. There is always a gap between the trunk and the rest of the body. And in the Model Y's case, the trunk wraps around all the way to the window frame. Look close and you can se that that trunk edge is from this edge *narrower*...

I don't understand why you would do this. Tesla does not do model years like other manufacturers. You are willing to wait just so that your VIN will show it as a 2022 when there might be zero actual differences?

The narrowing EDD is a *very* good sign, and being so close to the window. You should have a VIN any day now.

My VIN has an M (2021). The Way Tesla does model years I doubt we will see any N’s until late December or even January. But I could be wrong.

Ordered 7/19, today my EDD was updated to Oct 2 - Oct 21 :-) (before that it had been Oct 22 - Nov 11 for three weeks) Since I’m just 3 days from my EDD window now, I would expect a VIN soon… But who knows?

Be cautious though… it is possible Tesla has changed the sub-trunk structure after the early Model Ys. But do let us know how it goes. 🙂

The reason is probably that 7 seater variant, and wanting to keep as much commonality between the 5 and 7 seater. This is why the sub-trunk is split into a front and rear one. But I agree… I ordered the 5 seater, and I would gladly sacrifice all the sub-trunk space for a spare tire space.

Note - The partial rear door PPF only comes with the car in some areas. (Canada and some northern US states) Some also preinstall mudflaps. But in most states you have to purchase it yourself.
