Tein Flex Z front shock mount

Remove both the shock bolt and wheel carrier bolt. There is just too much preload to allow adjustments to be made while everything is together. If helper springs and/or thrust sheets/bearings are installed, then adjustment could happen but still very tight. GC articulating height adjusters do...

At that height you will have to max out the rear adjustments and nearly max out the front.

Supercharger - Arcadia, CA (Westfield Santa Anita Center, permits issued, 32 stalls)

It depends where the chargers are going in. Any of the covered areas are often full during mall opening hours.

7.4% range loss after Michelin CrossClimate2 tires

That is very interesting. Going from MPS4S to Conti Extreme Contact netted zero range difference for me. MPS4S is supposed to be stickier of the two.

Typically, with a different caliper you will also need a different line. On the Camaro I did the CTS-V BBK upgrade the SS line had to be upgraded.

DIY Big Brake Kit with Brembo 6 piston Calipers

It's usually the caliper shape that is the issue(Brembos run big). Stoptech 380 ST/STR-60 often clears most 18" aftermarket wheels with caliper clearance in mind in the design phase.

DIY Big Brake Kit with Brembo 6 piston Calipers

With this caliper doors are open for great hybrid pads like the Ferodo DS2500 and their endurance track day pad DS1.11.

    Better Tires than stock Hankook

Can't go wrong with Michelins but be careful with the Michelins at Costco. Some of them are private labeled for them and may not have the same construction.
  23. Motion122

    Tire rotation best practices?

front to rear is typically all you need to do. If you have some abnormal wear side to side, then you may want to rotate side to side. Inspect the tires first then rotate as needed and align as needed.
  24. Motion122

    Is this tire repairable?

1/2" away from the edge a tire shop may or may not want to repair it for liability reasons. You have to call around to see who is willing to repair it.

Anybody have experience with Paragon Brakes?

SS lines are mostly for abrasion resistance and for moisture permeation. SS lines use PTFE lining to stop moisture permeation. Although the PTFE lining may have less expansion properties, it's not something you will feel by making the switch. More critical in pedal feel is the reduction of any...

Anybody have experience with Paragon Brakes?

On M3P only. High quality and well made. Autocrossed with AX6 and 1521 Carbotech pads and can't be happier with the results. Porterfield R4S for street duty.

Tein Flex Z front shock mount

Yes, you can. See the two rubber plugs on the rear shock mounts? Remove one or the other and the opening is large enough to insert your finger to adjust. Front is just under the frunk cover. Alternatively, you can drill a 2-3 mm hole and use the supplied Tein adjusting tool.
  34. Motion122

Tein Flex Z front shock mount

These are surprising well made and damping seems to be decent for the price. I do recommend these. Keep in mind that with a bigger anti roll bar you will need to turn up the damping since in a turn the bar adds to the spring rate.

    18 x 9.5J + 31 114.3 5H fit Tesla model 3 LR?

Yes, as long as the center bore is correct. If not, just use hub centric rings.
  36. Motion122

Long term reports/reviews on base/LR brakes versus Performance brakes?

The rear calipers and brackets on the LR are more prone to corrosion for sure. The painted/powder coated P calipers will hold up better.

    Eibach end links noise?

If you are trying to corner balance or remove preload, get the adjustable ones. Otherwise the stock ones are fine.

DIY Big Brake Kit with Brembo 6 piston Calipers

Paragon offers a nice set of front and rear two-piece slotted rotors(I think they offer free shipping). PFC makes some great pads sold through UP, Porterfield R4-S is excellent as well, and so are Carbotech 1521.

Tein Flex Z front shock mount

You are welcome. Happy to post something that has not been installed or reviewed. No, they are linear. 9kg front and 10kg rear. I just assume they aren't pre-cycled like the high-end Swift or Hyperco springs. Definitely ride quality focused rather than handling. I spoke to Tein, but no higher...

Tein Flex Z front shock mount

Full and more rubber than OE on the Tein shock mounts(both front and rear). These are definitely designed with ride quality in mind, the opposit of a pillowball mount or spherical bearing mount. See my original post for the front upper mount photo.
  41. Motion122

Tein Flex Z front shock mount

Vehicle set to 7/8 lower front and 3/8 lower in the back then when it came in. Given these aren't linear rate springs that have been pre-cycled the vehicle will likely drop another 1/8 to 1/4 after a few hundred miles of driving. Will report the height change if any in a couple of weeks...

Using front coil springs from 2022 cars on 2018 model?

  44. Motion122

Using front coil springs from 2022 cars on 2018 model?

Tesla lowered the compression damping on 2021+ vehicle so all you need are the dampers. I have 9K front and 12K rear springs(Factory is 6K front and 10K rear)on my MCS 2WNR coilovers and it still rides better than any pre 2021 vehicles. It's mostly in the damping.

That isn't a solid mount. It has more rubber to reduce NVH than the OE mount. Here is a good review:
