    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

One huge fix they could implement would be to start using the map information even without NAV on AP. It could at least be aware of where there are exits and ignore them unless the user turn on a turn signal. It could assume at splits that you intend to stay on the same road unless you signal...

    Web Browser Useless

It seemed to work well in my garage on WiFi but once on AT&T LTE it is another story. Lots of crashes and lock ups where it is non-responsive without a reboot. This is really poorly written software to have this many bugs and work so poorly after this many years. Given how fast it performs in...

    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

It does use all 8 cameras now. There is a video on one of the threads proving that all 8 cameras are in use. This clearly makes EAP better than it was but as I understand it the new neural network has to earn again some things that the old one had already learned.

I have no idea whether it causes problems or not. However, it did not create those files when I had a single partition and no music on the drive.

    Software Update 2018.39.x (Version 9)

Today was my first chance to try V9 39.7 driving around 160 miles round trip. Here are my observations: AP - it seems a little smoother and while driving the 91 freeway HOV lanes I had to take control twice driving into Newport Beach from Riverside, once when it took a curve a little too close...

V9 - need two USB drives for MP3 play & Cam

If you are on a Mac you can use the disk utility. The trick is that you have to enable seeing the drive, not just the volume on the drive. Go to view and check enable all drives. Then format the drive with the apple file system. Then go back to the drive and partition it. After it is...

Try quotes.la this site will give you weather, weather radar, Waze, stocks and news. I'm on WiFi now and it works great. I will have to test on LTE once I go out where I have an LTE signal. Damn spell checker change the web site. It is "qtes.la" It turned qtes into quotes.

It seems to be working now with Mp3 so we will see if the two partition setup works with Dashcan or not.

What format does the music need to be to make it work? I have songs in .M4a from my iTunes and it sees the files but can't play them.

    Model 3 Software Updates

Got the update at 4AM last night! FINALLY!!! It looks good so far. I have HOV lane check box so I must have newer maps. I am fixing pancake breakfast for my grandkids this AM so I won't get to try it out until later this afternoon. :) :(

    Model 3 Software Updates

It would certainly be unfair to those of us that bought before AWD or performance versions were available. We took the larger risk in support of Tesla, especially those coming from owning an S or X. This would send the wrong message.

TeslaFi - Battery Degradation Reports (upload your data)

I would agree. If anything I am pretty close to where I was when I first acquired the car. Not sure why it went through the erratic and lower values but it appears to have leveled off pretty close to 310 miles of range and considering I don't have the Aero wheels but instead have the 19" sport...

    Model 3 Software Updates

The problem is that for a major roll out that they sent out an email to get us all hyped up about, it is being dribbled out instead of being blasted out like they did for the Consumer Reports brake issue. In one weekend they had it out to all TM3s. Maybe it is a cost control issue to keep...

I just tweeted the following to Elon. No response yet but who knows? Why the incredibly slow roll out of V9 for TM3s? Bad enough my Tesla stock is in the toilet. A little joy please!

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

I have a suspicion that the map being held in its position is due to Nav on AP. Once activated you will need the navigation app up and running. They want you to be able to quickly see it and verify proper navigation.

If I remember correctly, it is an LG device but go to your car and get the MAC address, then look on your router for the device connected to that MAC address. After that you can give it a name you will recognize in the future.

Paintless dent removal on Model 3

The guy that did my door could not get to the inside due to the location of the dent but managed to fix it. It did take a while but it was sure worth the price of around $280 if memory serves me.

LOW VIN!!! Should I be concerned?

My car delivered 4/26/18 with VIN 179xx has been problem free including a 3,500 mile road trip this summer and still looks like new. It has ten 2 front seats but get 1 back seat (at some point I may replace the back seat to a ken 2). It has the orange glass.

Paintless dent removal on Model 3

Here are two photos of the left rear door ding. The biggest challenge was that it was so close to the edge that some places wanted to drill into the door from the side to fix it. I found an artist willing to work at it and it took him about 3 hours but it was invisible after wards...

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

An interesting aside, if Tesla has sold a total of around 250,000 cars and maybe 200,000 are AP 2 and above and there are a total of around 2,000 early access members that works out to about 1 in 100 owners in the program. However, rather than randomly selecting, if they focused on selecting...

    Model 3 Software Updates

I hope version 9 will address this issue by relying more on vision. The stopped cars were clearly visible with time to slow down and stop. They were near an underpass so I can understand the radar might not see them. It should also look at tail lights (even though that is not 100% reliable as...

    Model 3 Software Updates

I received the update today and went from 36.1 to 36.2. I had two occurrences that I have not experienced before so I thought I should at least mention them. First, I was in the car pool lane doing about 75 with AP engaged. After rounding a curve I could see that traffic was stopped some...

Has anyone really used a 12V pump to fill tire?

My view is that if I get a small leak, like a nail or screw, the pump will let me inflate the tire enough to drive to a service station (even if it takes more than one time inflating the tire). If it is a blow out, nothing but calling for Tesla service is going to fix the tire, especially a...

Blog A Look at Tesla's EV Competition in 2019

You also have to take this prices with a grain of salt. Those are as realistic in 2019 as Tesla's model 3 for $35K is in 2018. For fun I tried configuring the Jaguar I-Pace. By the time you have the options anyone paying this much for a car added, the price is closer to $90K than $70K...

I'm just over $100/mo ($645 every 6 months) and that is for $500k/$1,000,000 with a $250 deductible with USAA for my LR model 3. Less than I paid for my Mercedes C class @ $879 for 6 months.

From Models S to Model 3...Wow these cars are different!

In my case, I sold my S to buy a 3 because I wanted a smaller car with more up to date technology and the trade offs were acceptable to me. Of course, now I am looking at having to buy FSD for $4K to keep it current technology wise once the new CPU is available.

From Models S to Model 3...Wow these cars are different!

By the way 3 dB is double the sound level and most people with normal hearing can hear that difference; however, measuring with just a dB meter is inadequate to tell the perceived noise difference. For example a 3 dB difference at 12 kHz vs a 3 dB difference at 3 kHz is noticeably different and...

From Models S to Model 3...Wow these cars are different!

I'll add that I do think the 3 has better headlights. I do miss the hatchback trunk that is powered open and close too. I think the S is quieter and has the better ride and I felt it was more secure on the road but that my be psychological due to my S being a D versus RWD. I also miss having...
