    Spotted! Who is waiting for a Y or a 3 in Ottawa/Montreal?

Hmmm..... does that the containment hold was for the software (doubtful), or because the cars were ‘missing’ their radar components? Either way, weird.

Saskatchewan: $150/Year Road Tax for EVs Effective October 1

That’s not something that needs to be debated. What’s a problem is both that EVs get hit harder than gas cars for it (2x to 6x in some places), and that the gas tax itself isn’t solely earmarked for road upkeep. It gets thrown into the general tax money pot and spent on whatever. I’m not...

    Financing Tesla vehicles in Canada

Basically, Tesla gets your information, then shops around with lenders that service your area, and bring the first positive result back to you. Being a ‘dealer’ Tesla is given slightly better rates than we as consumers get, but it’s still done through banks/credit unions. Rates are generated...

Assuming it’s not ICEholes doing it. Could also be moved there by the elements *shrug*

Just in case anyone was wondering what this beast looks like ‘under the hood’, here’s a few pictures.

Windshield Replacement For Model 3 - Toronto Area

I have been advised to NEVER pay out of pocket if possible :P

Canadian Model 3 delivery estimates for new orders are already into June.

With the alleged 10K cars stuck at Freemont for an unknown reason, it's looking like there's a problem with the shipping to me. Got no details other than a drone flyover reported in another thread

    Supercharger - Coquitlam, BC

you'd think a power company would be chomping at the bit to get more money into their accounts -.-

Anything to be aware of when selling a Tesla?

London Ont, or London England? It’s a fun road trip from BC to Ont. 😝

Model Y should be $6500 cheaper in Canada

Didn’t they just do that, put the prices up $500? 😝

    Is 120v charging enough

Are you charging at night? If so, you can load share using the dryer plug. I’ll wager your dryer isn’t used at night. 😜 I’m trying to remember the tests I did a few years back using the 120 plug, but the changes in software kind make those numbers moot. Since your car will be garaged, the 120v...

Planning a trip from Toronto to Vancouver in Model 3 SR+

I echo Ry’s reply with a little more: the extra weight of the generator counts against you for range. It’s less hassle in almost every way to plan your route with the onboard nav plus ABRP, and use PlugShare if you need to find something nearby.

Canadian Model 3 delivery estimates for new orders are already into June.

It’s a little new, but given what I’ve heard from my local Ranger, it’s kinda needed. People would be scheduling service to have work done based on something they’d heard/read, rather than something actually occurring with the car. Having Rangers run ragged to tell people there’s nothing wrong...

Planning a trip from Toronto to Vancouver in Model 3 SR+

If it helps to ease your mind, two guys did a cannonball run from Vancouver BC to Halifax NS during a cold snap in February before covid hit. They made the trip in about 74 hours and hopped from supercharger to supercharger the whole way. That was using a P3, but during winter, so I doubt you’ll...

it can definitely put the power down! Now all I gotta do is figure out how to get all the gravel out afterwards. 😝🤣

Talk to your SA, maybe you can get a delayed delivery instead of needing to cancel & reorder. Can’t hurt to try at least.

Potential Canadian luxury tax on cars over $100K

It might or might not have an effect on the CT. Even at the max trim level, it’ll only be close to this cost. We’ll have to wait and see. Regardless, I’m still getting my truck. :P

British Columbia Residents Referral Code Petition

In a nutshell: since people offering a referral code would get something from Tesla (free SC miles), they’re considered employed by Tesla.

Adding a charger to my 100 amp panel

TBH, if you don’t have problems running the dryer, and you don’t run both the dryer & the car charger at the same time, I don’t think you should have any issues.

    CCS @ Petro Canada

NRCAN funding is available for chargers, but it still isn’t enough of an incentive for locations to add charging capability.

No. It’s been said multiple times it cannot be unlocked. Edit: at least, it’s not unlockable via Tesla.

Tips for submitting tickets via the Tesla App

Got something new from my local Ranger: If you hold down the car icon on the center screen for ten seconds, the car will screenshot the center display and the binnacle display, then save the image in the cars log file. This gives a time stamp as well as the image of whatever was on the screen(s).

Model 3 Standard Range (Canada) Range: 150km

It was only ever a caveat for the government rate. Unless the bureaucrats stipulated this model has to be visible, I don’t understand why Tesla would put it on the page TBH.

    So that happened..... somehow

Ranger checked and didn’t see anything that screamed bad install to him. My pictures are pretty crap thanks to my stupid iPhone which refuses to focus on anything anymore. He messaged me via the app and said that the installer is going to put it through under replacement warranty.

Not going on my insurance. It’s either the installer, or Tesla. This is under 90 days.

What's it worth? 2018 M3 Long Range RWD AutoPilot

I agree, I’d love to see Tesla able to do better, but to date Tesla has never really been able to handle it, at least as far as I’ve seen. What was the company Tesla was using for their wholeseller before? I remember it being in the news for doing a shitty job, but I don’t remember all the...

    Humming noise when in reverse

You should be able to change the sound if you want via the Boombox app in either the toy box or the entertainment section. Can even put a sound file on a usb stick and select that.

    Financing Tesla vehicles in Canada

Tesla isn’t responsible for the rate change, that’s on the change in financing banks. Likely Scotia backed out and Tesla had to switch to HSBC.

Covid restrictions blocking Tesla Mobile Service in NB

Yeah, the EVAAC crew confirmed it was Cody that got his trip shutdown. It’s not the first time he’s had to fight the bureaucracy, so I doubt he’ll give up this time. At one point while he and I were talking, he related that he’d had to submit plans three weeks in advance, only to have those...

Moving to Vancouver, thinking about winter tires, seeking comments on my plan

Check the laws where you want to go: I’m on the East coast and there are places where it’s illegal to drive on winter tires during the summer season (most Quebec I think).

Covid restrictions blocking Tesla Mobile Service in NB

In classic me fashion, I zoned out and missed the meeting altogether. X.X I’ll put it up in the Facebook group and see what I can get there. I did think of something though. Cody is the local Ranger and hasn’t had issues with traveling, I wonder if a Quebec Ranger was supposed to roll on down...

    Paint damage

Tesla’s current paint setup is limited by a California statute that inhibits Tesla from applying paint as they would prefer too. This will unfortunately continue to be an issue until TerraTexas is online and producing Model Ys with an updated paint shop setup. Once GigaBerlin has their paint...

Covid restrictions blocking Tesla Mobile Service in NB

He IS classed as an essential worker. It’s EXCEEDINGLY weird for this to be occurring. I’ll bring it up at the monthly EVAAC meeting tonite and see what we can learn.
