I got the Hannshow trunk and thought oh I won’t need the frunk I barely use it.
Turns out I use it quite often so looked at frunk options and Tesla Offer has better reviews overall recently.
Trunk I didn’t want to install myself as involved drilling. Frunk was easy with the correct socket set...
Once the weather improves I am going to do my dechrome, so as long as I dont make a mistake you can buy the other half from me.
I have the NikolaPro kit but its been sat inside untll I can clean the car and do it properly.
I prefer TeslaMate.
It has better data visualisation graphs etc and it’s completely free. The data is also owned by you in your own database not on a 3rd party server.
That being said you need some basic computer knowledge to set it up, but once done it works by itself.
Maybe I'm being stupid but from the picture it looks like it would reach fine if he parked normally?
The Model 3 would certainly have no problems with its normally placed chargeport. The petrol tank access on ICE works perfectly there as does an EV socket so why dick about with its placement?
Sat at Crawley which is open regardless of lack of pin on car map. 189KW peak at 11%.
The current session cost is not counting up so either I won’t get billed or it will kick in at the end.
I’ve had the trunk from Hannshow since July. No issues at all and mine isn’t plugged into the CANBUS.
That being said I’m one of the select few who hasn’t ever had to goto a service centre for any car faults.
Supercharger network was a massive plus point or course.
But Tesla have the best technology in a car. As a nerd I love that my car has an API endpoint to query for data as an example.
Firstly I see you’re from West Sussex. A wonderful part of the world if I do say so myself.
Exiled in London my local Sainsbury’s Richmond 7kw pod points are still online.
3 hour parking limit though so not really worth it.
Tried this today and came up with the below. Happy to share the JSON but only works for my Geofence list which is based off DaveWs import list but sligtly tweaked.
My premium connectivity is back “included package” now in my account!
I ordered first day of Model 3 in the U.K. so check your account everyone, great news.
Speaking of superchargers has anyone got a dashboard for them in Grafana?
I may take it as a learning excercise to try and make one that tracks the ones I've visited in the UK.
For a city with a Green Party MP the charging situation in Brighton is pretty dire. Is suspect the council has some kind of agreement with charge your car and their units are often broken.
They are introducing lamppost chargers but they are iced 90% of the time.
For some further feedback I just did a 200 mile round trip with two road bikes up top using the RockBros.
Like has been previously said quite anxious to start with then you get more comfortable, kept it at about 60mph on the M25.
I think it’s a great alternative for those who don’t use the roof...
Did my first long drive on Wifi yesterday. It worked great, until my phone hit a blackspot with no data coverage.
The car seemed to detect no web connection was possible and disconnected from Wifi.
Connecting it again whilst driving was then near impossible to do safely so I had to pull over to...
Its wonderful isnt it.
12 months, 15k miles and my approx petrol savings compared to my BMW M140i are around the same at £2173.74.
Maybe I've got a heavy right foot by my overall efficiency is 319 Wh/mile......
The beautiful Lake District in Cumbria.
On the way to walk Scafell Pike and my god was it windy at the top, you could barely stand up!
Car was perfect and ticked over 15k after 12 months of ownership. Reminder of what a wonderful country we live in.
If visiting the Lakes I’d recommend a...
I personally find Waze far superior to the in car nav anyway. In the Lakes this weekend there were all kind of dangerous roads signed “Dangerous Track DO NOT FOLLOW SAT NAV”.
The car wanted to send me down them. Waze knew before we even got there. I guess that’s the beauty of a crowd sourced...
Mine was about two and a half weeks. Apologies Ive not been out in the car to take a video yet. The V4 is basically the same as the vids you see online but it has a soft close at the bottom.
It latches and then slowly closes tight. It’s a nice feature.
I had a small import tax to pay on...
Agreed with mounting the back wheel on the boot lid. Some horror stories of the rear wheel and the pressure on that suction cup causing the glass to crack on Model 3s using seasuckers mounted incorrectly.
I assume you plan to keep to low speeds on motorways etc? I am considering one of these...
I prefer TeslaMate as a tracking tool, its free if you run it on your own hardware.
Theres a massive thread and community of users on here and all your data is in your own SQL database.
Darren fitted my power trunk today at his workshop.
Took great care of the car during install and knew his stuff.
If like me you don’t have the tools or space to install would highly recommend.
Not sure if related or I have a worse issue.
I plug my car in and select 32a on the display. It ramps up and gets to 16amps but then reduces down to 0amps.
Tries to ramp up again and the same thing happens on loop. Tops out at 16amps then resets itself.
If I limit in the car to 16amps it will...
From my research before purchase it looks like the V4 uses the Canbus as a safety feature so the trunk doesn’t trigger via the foot sensor by a non foot object whilst the car is in drive.
As previously stated it’s optional though and doesn’t affect the functionality of the kit.
The Seasucker works on Model 3. They even have a page to suggest where to mount it.
I personally would rather put the back seats down with a cover and stick bikes in the back, but I understand that may not be possible if you have kids etc.
Great app for those with an Apple Watch.
I like the complication for charging time remaining at a glance.
I'll test the sleep of the car overnight but I've set it not to wake in background so it should fall asleep as normal.
I'm on HP. I can make adhoc payments if I wish, not looked into if you are charged for doing so or not.
I think there is a fee for early completion, if it makes sense to pay said fee probably depends on individual circumstances.
Never had this before and now having it on my workplace 32A Chargemster unit.
A stop and start of the charge fixes it but annoying if you dont spot it.
I'd rather sit on a 50kw Polar 'rapid' than pay 69pkwh from Ionity crooks.
As soon as ChargePoint/German workarounds end I will be boycotting for sure.
