    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I presume the Cuba rumour was derived from this: Put nuclear weapons in Cuba – Russian MP IMO we should refrain here from just copying and pasting 'breaking news' unless we've carried out due diligence first. The Russian misinformation machines are working overtime currently. No names, you...

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

You need to tell us exactly how you have modified your brakes - what pads, discs etc. you are using. You can put bigger calipers/rotors under 18" rims if that's the route you want to take (not necessarily Tesla 18" rims though). How much track driving do you intend to do?

    Speed Camera Model X

Only some fixed cameras and average speed zones are shown and only on the route you have entered into navigation and the direction you are travelling. No audible warning, just the icons on the map. All in all, not particularly useful but I suppose in time it may improve.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

BBC tends to lead with misinformation these days. Why report Russian lies as though they are facts? Every 'update' so far quotes only Russian sources. 'BBC Verify' isn't verifying much. Just repeating Russian lies with a disclaimer they can't verify it.

    Squeeky top mounts?

Improved ball joint so water doesn't get in and the grease stays in there. There are more expensive aftermarket ones like Powerflex or MPP which also have uprated bushes and can give you more camber adjustment but on the whole they're aimed at drivers taking their cars in track. For most the new...
  12. Dangerous Fish

    Squeeky top mounts?

Ok I think you better list all the mods on your car as I was under the impression it was all factory. Squeaks can come from various bushes so you need to narrow it down more. At least top/bottom. The MPP FUCAs are unlikely to be the cause.
  13. Dangerous Fish

    Squeeky top mounts?

It will be the upper control arms, not the top mounts. Assuming it's not in warranty, if you get Tesla to fix it will cost around £190 in total. It's not a difficult DIY if you want to have a go. Aftermarket parts are available also, but the latest Tesla arms are a big improvement on the...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

No, clearly a different engagement and that one looks like the Bradley used one if not both of it's TOWs on the tank. Just to be clear, I'm not trying to say a Bradley can't take out a T-90, because with 2 x TOWs available, it has a very good chance of at least disabling it, but I'm agreeing...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

There's been a clip of a T-90 being "destroyed" by a Bradley's 25mm chain gun which seems to have got some quite excited. I have to say, I'm with Ryan on this one. Unless someone has some footage of how it looked after the clip, which cuts very abruptly after the smoke went off.

    Coilovers M3 performance. Anyone?

You don't necessarily need adjustable arms. Get an alignment check done before you fit anything and see how it changes once lowered. There is a small amount of adjustment in the standard parts which Tesla calls "slop" 😁 i.e. the bolt holes are bigger than the bolts. While you're at it, check...

    Coilovers M3 performance. Anyone?

You're going to get people recommending lowering springs. I'm not going to do that as they are just a cheap way to lower a car which can lead to other negative issues. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, a decent coilover kit like KW is what I'd suggest. Just be aware that there are...

    Coilovers M3 performance. Anyone?

Yes, many of us have but what are you trying to achieve? Better ride? Better handling? The slammed look? Track day beast? It's always a compromise but if you can define what you're after, that will help you choose the best solution. Also, you need to spend a reasonable amount of money to get...

Nonsense. You can order parts through the app and there are plenty of aftermarket replacement parts available for all Tesla models now, so there's no reason a garage can't carry out repairs.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Before and after KABOOM! Original brightened up to show extensive mangling: Some Russian 'experts' are claiming friendly fire was responsible for both hits. They just can't admit to themselves that Ukraine has the capability, so that explanation is easier to swallow. That's telling in itself.

Help: cannot retract one of the rear calipers piston (but the other did)

I'm afraid you may have broken the epb worm gear. Although it's supposed to be possible to manually wind the piston in, you really need to do if with the motor either in service mode or with a battery connected to the terminals.

This suggests the A-50 was within range of Patriot. Some say it was flying that close to the frontline because of all the radar strikes UKR carried out in Crimea. Another theory is that it was shot down by Su-27s armed with 100km+ AIM-120C missiles. Either way, a nice start to the week.

    Dreaded squeaky suspension (2019 Model 3 SR+)

First off, there are 3 main sources of noise from the front. The noises can be described as a squeak/groan/knock. Sometimes it can happen when the car is stationary and you turn the steering from lock to lock. Sometimes it needs the car to be moving before you can hear it. If it happens when...

MYP accelerated rear inner tire wear like MS Plaid - Texas example - check yours

Yes I see them all the time. The "within spec. window" is very wide on all models. There is a case for adjustable arms for S/X and 3/Y and thankfully more options are coming available for those who don't want to spend money on adjustable arms with spherical joints.

MYP accelerated rear inner tire wear like MS Plaid - Texas example - check yours

So how do you align to the target (rather than the wide "within spec" values) for rear toe, camber, caster if you own a Tesla which is out of the 'slop' adjustment window? There are reasons to add more adjustability other than for track use.

4941/4947 VHB is the right one, but preparation is all important with any adhesive, especially if you want it to stick to a material like the one used for the number plate plinth.
