    Tampa FL Service Center

I went in recently to have my windshield replaced. Great service. Granted it was performed by Safelight on Tesla property, but the Tesla staff are the ones who checked me in. No issues.

M3P - Running Front and Rear Tires of Different Brands

I’ve done it on my old BMW M3‘s for similar reasons but don’t recommend. Every day driving you will not notice a difference. At 8 to 10 / tenths of the chassis (track), or potentially an emergency manuever on the highway, you will notice increased understeer with your setup of the front tires...

Unplugged performance VS H&R lowering springs

No comment on the UP, but I love the look of the HR on my M3P. I’ve have had them for over 3 years. However, if you are going to the track, I highly highly recommend coilovers. The stock dampers just can’t keep up and any imperfection in a hard corner really upsets ths the chassis.

    Apple Music awful on 12.5

Better? I wish I could give you a first hand review. But the fact Porsche also supports CarPlay I would think most would go that route to access Apple Music (I would). There are YouTube reviews of the Apple Music native integration if you're interested. At least one has similar stuck loading...

    On and Off Charging

It’s likely not as efficient. If the battery needs to be warmed or chilled to charge, you would be wasting more energy to prepare the battery. Of course, the $$$ matters little since you have solar. The wear on cycling those systems might be an issue over the REALLY long term.

Do i have to keep it plugged in everyday?

Tesla recommends plugging it in everyday. If you have a charger next to your normal parking spot, that’s the recommendation and since it’s stupid simple and always results in a ready battery, there’s little reason not to follow Tesla’s own advice. If you are in an apartment or other area where...

Spoiler coming off post PPF wrap

My experience is the spoilers are considered one-time use by Tesla. They delivered my M3P without a spoiler so they had to come out and install one. That one went down crooked. They removed it, gave it to me and said I could keep it, and then used a brand new one. However, if you take it off...

18’’ vs 19’’ Wheels on Long Range

Tesla UK has the 18" as 389 miles (est) and for the 19" as 374 miles (WTLP). We all know real world is you won't get near this, but real world is completely different for everyone so you will likely get a myriad of answers. The direct answer to your question though is adding the 19" wheels...

Apple Music: Playing Albub in Order?

In the new interface, they have the random button less pronounced. I've only found it by swiping up on the music card in the left hand pane. Then you'll see the random button. My guess is yours is turned on.

Can phone charger be replaced with Apple Magsafe?

I did it in the old console (2019). I had to drill into the charging tray and put in two MagSafe pucks. Works great though I wish Apple offered them in black.

Discussion: HW.4 Suite - Availability, retrofit, suitability etc.

I have zero insider knowledge of supply chain and teslas plan, but would think they would release it in the CT first, then wait a bit to retrofit the 3/Y/S/X. The CT comes out late this year so if that turns out to be true, you'll be waiting awhile.

    Ctrl-Bar - physical controls buttons for MY/M3

By any chance, does anyone know if the sexy buttons (or this new bar) are going to incorporate windows with them any time soon? I’d buy one if they have a button for all down and all up. Bonus points for all down to the 1/2 position.

    Tired of the terrible range

In Florida myself. One thing you didn’t mention was wind. I’ve noticed, especially lately, the wind makes a large difference. I’m not in a S/X, but I notice I can get 240 wh/mi in one direction then on the way home it’s 320. I have a M3P. That’s a 40 wh/mi swing from my lifetime of upper 280s.

    Battery degradation warranty question.

@AidanR , you have a 2019 S/X which had the unlimited miles but no warranty on degradation. Tesla added the degradation sometime in 2020. So, even if you are low and have a degraded battery, it's not covered I'm afraid. You could make a case it's undriveable at current capacity and see what...

Will H&R springs work with stock dampers?

I have been driving a '19 M3P with H&R springs and stock shocks. Depending on your use of the car, I may or may not recommend it. - H&R springs are GREAT for looks when combined with spacers. - H&R springs are stiffer than stock springs with less vertical compression and extension so the H&R...

Show Notifications missing in iPhone Bluetooth settings

There is on iPhone. I had this exact same issue. I forget the exact method I did to fix it but I believe it was deleting the phone on Tesla Bluetooth settings, then going into the iPhone and deleting the tesla Bluetooth device (but not the key). Then repair and it showed back up. After...

Going crazy about Performance brakes? [Tesla using caliper covers on rear brakes of Y performance after supplier switch]

Love to see a pic of the "cover". If the rear brakes indeed have a cover and you picked it up that way, that's a very big deal IMHO. AFAIK, it should not have a "cover" - Do both the front and rear have covers? - Do the fronts have a cover? - Does your screen show a red line underneath the...

    Let Tesla replace Dash Pad?

What’s “pretty bad”? Certainly it’s better to leave it as is if it’s tolerable. If it’s a huge gash and you see it every time I drive, well then I would take the chance. In the end it’s how bad will it annoy you every time you drive? And would “potential” creaks and rattles annoy you even more?

Don't shoot the messenger since I have a MY, but a friend got hit by someone in a Tesla. Is there a way to demand camera and telemetry data?

Tough situation. You really have no legal way to demand the video. Besides, all they have to do is say they didn't have a USB drive attached which would mean no video was even recorded in the first place. As far as the telemetry data, you can request from Tesla, but I think this would be an...

But that’s the thing. It doesn’t work adequately. There are plenty of apps that won’t work with such old code. Certainly consider upgrading. Most mobile providers will give you a brand new one just by signing a 2 year financing agreement. But, there is a trick to download older code. In the...

Should I take out a loan or pay with cash?

The decision has nothing to do with the car. Specifics matter, but generally a 54k loan at 4% for 4 years will cost you ~$4.5k over those 4 years. - can you invest that 54k and make more than $4.5k in that same 4years? - can you absorb losing 1/2 your savings over those 4 years? IE, any...

    Cable gauge feedback

The answer is it could be but there are a lot of interdependencies (distance, insulation, CU/AL, conduit, romex, etc). Look up wire gauge calculator and you will see plenty of them based on NEMA (for the US). Be sure to put in 60 amps even though you’ll never pull more than 48A. If he/she is...

FSD score being affected by Auto Pilots hard braking

It clearly states that "Hard braking while on Autopilot is not factored into the Safety Score formula" on: https://www.tesla.com/support/safety-score so if you are seeing the opposite, that would be a bug as it's behavior is not intended. If this is affecting your insurance premium, this is a...
