Agreed. The best curb rash defense is heads up driving and being aware of where your wheels are. On my Y Performance, the rash potential is much higher with zero protection by the tires on the stretched 21” wheels. I’m just very careful.

Tell them you’re paying via cashiers check at time of pickup. Never fund online through Plaid. Upon arrival tell them you want to inspect car before payment. That’s how I handled my MYP, and I will again when my MX comes in. If they refuse, they’ll lose a sale.

It will be interesting how they handle this. I ordered a "tax edition" in December, in Ultra Red. EDD is Feb-Mar and I've already elected the POS tax rebate. If they wind up jacking the MSRP on standing orders, I predict they'll lose a lot of sales.

Front mud flaps are all you really need. Adding rear flaps is purely cosmetic and they do nothing to protect YOUR car, they only protect the car behind you!

They are definitely discounting remainning 2023 inventory. This 2023 X with a yoke and white interior has been in inventory at the Boise SC for a couple of months. Now discounted $2000, and will not qualify for the $7500 tax credit.

Find a used X with the vertical screen or keep holding your breath. They're not going back.

Insurance on the Tesla really depends on where you live. I went from a 15 year old BMW 535 to a 2022 MYP and my rates went down. I'm now waiting on a MX and my insurance quote to replace the MYP was only $150 higher for 6 months. Not bad at all.

I"m pretty sure Tesla has already announced that they won't be participating in "point of sale" rebates in 2024. The point of sale thing was "optional" and I saw a few posts on here that Tesla was not participating. You'll still have to wait until you file 2024 taxes.

I use the MyQ opener now, but before that I simply removed the metal clip and secured the remote to the backside of the screen, lower left, with a 3m command adhesive strip. It’s still there and easy to find if I need it.

I'm quite happy with my LDCRS mats. Similar to Maxspider, but without the annoying logo. Coming up on two years with no issues and wearing very well.

I had the fronts of my MYP tinted with Xpel XR+. I don't see any blue at all in it, but my interior is black. I just asked them to match the rear factory tint and they did a great job.

I agree that the Yeti's are pricey, but they're worth it. I've got a few that are nearly 10 years old and still working great. As an added bonus, my company orders Yeti cups for customer promo giveaways, so I have access to a personal "stash" as needed.

I'll second the vote for the Yeti 20oz. Rambler. Fits the cup holder perfectly and the magnetic sliding lid is slick. Heck even the 30oz. yet cup with the tapered bottom works well in my MYP.

I'm 16 months in on my MYP with zero trim discoloration issues. I did coat everything with 2-coats of ceramic when it was new, and I run it through an automated car wash (with microfiber brushes and multiple soap/wax steps :eek:) a few times each month. No issues to date.

A grit guard is an insert that fits in the bottom of your 5 gallon bucket. It lets all the grit settle to the bottom and not foul up your wash mit.

I wash my MYP weekly using a soft touch automated wash. I use "car wash" mode and in over a year of washing, no issues.

Sloppy work. Good tint has a hand filed edge that looks perfect. No way in hell would I pay for a gap like that.

On the MYP, you have two different widths of rims (front/rear), so you'll never be rotating unless you get 4 new identical wheels and go to a "square" set up.

It's quite simple, you don't rotate them! I live with this on both my MYP and Porsche Boxster that both have "staggered" set ups. It's the price you pay!

I like the wheels sans the aerodisks. With the disks on, it looks to me like a car that's had the wheel "booted" for illegal parking.

I had my local Xpel dealer do the top line Xpel+ ceramic tint on the two front doors. I just told them to match the factory tint on the rear doors and they nailed it. I think it was right around $150 for the two doors with a lifetime warranty.
