Colorado to Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN) and then Loudon, TN, and then Tail of the Dragon…

I'm in the middle of this road trip now. I am in Pigeon Forge until Monday, and then driving to Loudon to stay at a friend's. The drive was uneventful except how much I enjoyed it as always. My one issue has been the plastic skid plate that goes to the right part of my bumper detached - not sure...

Marooned on 2023.26.100 Factory Build Island: Any Fellow Castaways Out There?

My son just got his new M3 end of quarter and is still on that release. It can take a few weeks after purchase to be put into update rotation. Of course my 2020 M3 is waiting for its update from 26.10 for over 41 days now. So…

    Sentry Modder - new app

Sorry. Maybe I wasn’t very clear. The app gives you a notification when a sentry alert occurs. How do you poll for sentry alerts? Maybe I missed it but I wasn’t aware of any api or data feed that Tesla provided with that info. So how is your app aware of the sentry events?

    2023.27.6 fine print

Was this the release notes or the new data sharing screen? My bet is it was the data sharing screen that was redone. Go to the data sharing button in your main settings and see if that looks like what you just hit OK to.

    Sentry Modder - new app

How does it work? I’m curious as I’m on iOS so I can’t access info right now.

Correct but it might fix his weird issues and then let him try to recheck for an update.

You could open service mode and tell it to redownload the update.

Why no supercharger in Fredericksburg, TX?

When I lived in Austin area, we rarely did a day trip there. Usually stayed overnight for a few days. Destination charger is an option but one of the charms of Fredericksburg was staying at cool places that may not have chargers. A SC in town would definitely have helped. Required? No. Helped? Yes.

    2023.26.10 automatic emergency braking unavailable

If I start the car remotely (like turn on AC or what not) before I get in…then it doesn't happen. If the car wakes up when I get in, it happens.

Model X door no longer open fully automatically without USS (ultra-sonic sensors)?

I asked a Tesla advisor - which you always take with a grain of salt - but was told the way it is now is permanent. Said they had too many complaints of the doors hitting other cars. Take that as you wish. But I agree with @E90alex - buy a Tesla with what it has, not with what's the promise.
  11. IronCoffee_Max

    2023.26.10 automatic emergency braking unavailable

Yes. The message goes away within 2 seconds and when I go into Service mode it doesn't show any alerts in the system. That leads me to the strong believe it's a buggy alert. Yes, in the past when I have seen real alerts they both stayed around, were visible in the alerts pane, AND were in the...

    2023.26.10 automatic emergency braking unavailable

Yes, it goes away almost immediately. My suspect is that it's a bug in this release then.

    2023.26.10 automatic emergency braking unavailable

Ahhh. I have the same issue. Do you happen to have the S3XY buttons installed? I had just installed them and wasn’t sure if the Commander was a factor.

Model Y suggest limit 80% but my 3 is 90%. Wazzup??

The above I think is the right answer. My wife's M3 and my M3 both said 90% for awhile. Then she got 2023.26.x and it changed to 80. Mine has FSD beta so still said 90. Then it upgraded to 2023.26 as well and now says 80%. We both just use 90% because we do a lot of driving.
  15. IronCoffee_Max

    2023.26 branch and FSD?

Tesla updates are rarely well understood. There is no one here that can give you a good reason. I'm on a 2020 LR with FSD Beta on 2023.20.9 as well, while my wife with a 2020 LR without FSD Beta is now on 2023.26.8. No idea why except maybe that maybe it doesn't have FSD Beta? Some people have...

Road trip CA to Oregon and back

Yeah, funny because I often find the Tesla nav to want me to make too many stops - I usually remove one or two to get to 1-3% charge on the next leg (when I am in places where there are plenty of options to stop if I need to earlier). When in Texas or OK, I prefer 20% buffer, but CO or CA, I'll...

Road trip CA to Oregon and back

I've seen this happen when the SC on the way was a V1 or something. For example, it wanted me to skip a 72 kW charger in Grand Junction.

Try this, when your battery doesn't have enough to reach the Supercharger

At least here in CO there are. Blue signs with an EV and fuel symbol.

    Schedule Departure Once

Good :) The problem I found with my app was Tesla's API is location dependent meaning if you say you want to leave at 5pm somewhere while at home, but then you go to work and now it's 5…that 5pm departure was assigned to your home location, not work. So while it did work very well in general, it...

Watch Ultra can not use Siri commands

I use WFT myself - but not an Ultra yet. I have a S6 Watch so my plan is upgrade to an Ultra in September…so not super helpful for you right now. That said, the dev of WFT is very responsive on Twitter. So might try them there.

Gpx conversion road trip to Tesla

It’s more about setting the destinations, because ABRP doesn’t choose route info. But theoretically for every decision you made in a GPX file (depending on how you set the data) someone could write an app to send every decision point to Tesla as it approached the previous one. So if you...

Gpx conversion road trip to Tesla

ABRP can do that. Technically an app can be written to do that through the Tesla API. But I know ABRP can send a whole navigation list to a car.

Colorado to Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN) and then Loudon, TN, and then Tail of the Dragon…

OK so doing a bit more planning, it seems like going from my friend's house - doing the tail and then back is about 40%. So that's fine. I could stop and charge at the end for a bit while we eat, or I could not and be fine coming back. Loudon area is a charging desert for fast charging so I...

Colorado to Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN) and then Loudon, TN, and then Tail of the Dragon…

Ha - yes. I'll have about 2-3 days sitting there before I go on that drive. And frankly, I don't need 100%. I'll probably get to my friend's house at around 67%. Theoretically with our plans, I can go the whole week without charging, but I'll be happy to get to 80%. The 120v is not about need...

Colorado to Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, TN) and then Loudon, TN, and then Tail of the Dragon…

In October I've got a flight for my wife and daughter, but I'm really excited about going out there in my LR M3 (I love road trips and have done over 20k in my Tesla over the last 3 years, with CCS, Tesla SC, and L2 chargers throughout Western US and Texas). Of course, I've used Plugshare/ABRP...

Tesla rigged the dashboard readouts in its electric cars to provide “rosy” [range] projections

I think a lot of this would get fixed if Tesla would just have an option to show % Battery / Real world range in its HUD.
  29. IronCoffee_Max

    2023.26 push stopped?

26 doesn't have FSD Beta in it, whereas the more high volume versions have it embedded. So my guess is it's a low volume update to test some things before it gets merged in with the trunk.

Just Installed Update v2023.26.1—Camera View On TESLA App Is A HUGE Disappointment!!!

I don't and have not argued that point at all. I agree with this 100% and I want very much to see this feature included. I was very disappointed to see that we still don't have it. My only point was I wasn't expecting it based on: This was a mobile feature…and that's not how a Birds Eye view is...

Just Installed Update v2023.26.1—Camera View On TESLA App Is A HUGE Disappointment!!!

I'n not suggesting. It's been documented in this very forum a few times. Nissan or some major vendor (Bosch?) I believe owns the patent of a 360 Birds Eye view in a vehicle ( I don't have the details), and most of the auto mfgs license it. I'm just providing a potential thing here, but "you...

Just Installed Update v2023.26.1—Camera View On TESLA App Is A HUGE Disappointment!!!

I had also hoped but it was obvious we weren’t getting a Birds Eye view from the graphic. It said multi cam - not Birds Eye and it’s on the mobile app, not the car where it’s needed. Multi cam is like any security cam view: boxes of video feeds. Also to be clear I don’t think it’s a technical...

Has anyone heard of a Tesla being rear ended because of phantom braking?

Well that sucks to hear. Here in Denver on I25 and C470 the NavOAP phantom braking went away. We need to keep reporting that section then.

Has anyone heard of a Tesla being rear ended because of phantom braking?

I agree - saw the exact same thing. Thing is - once I started using FSDb instead of NavOnA, I noticed in almost every area I've driven phantom braking went away. So I'm curious if the next time I drive down there, if it will be gone.

Anybody know a way to kill\lessen the upgrade nags?

This. This is what's baffling me and why nothing he says after that makes any sense. It's stubbornness, irrational, and spiteful - all hurting himself and no one else.
  37. IronCoffee_Max

Anybody know a way to kill\lessen the upgrade nags?

Honestly, the latest software is miles ahead of where v11 was when it launched, and at this point better than v10 was. If you're not upgrading, that's your choice but I'd think it's a mistake.

Autopilot on 2023.12.1.1 much improved for me.

I usually am on 2 as well (wish I could do 1 like before…) for the same reason as you. I haven't noticed a difference…but honestly since our office moved out of downtown to the suburbs, I haven't tested it much.

Autopilot on 2023.12.1.1 much improved for me.

Curious - when you talk about improvements/degradation/anything - can you also post your car length setting? I've noticed that depending on the number of car lengths I have set my TACC to makes a significant difference in how AP handles stop/go. I wonder if there were improvements in the curve.

Best Apple watch app in May 2023

I'm a big fan of the Watch for Tesla app. It works extremely well, looks really nice, and has a developer that constantly improves the app. There is Stats as well - and that developer also does the same, but the pricing - for me - is somewhat outrageous.

SW Updates have seemed to cease

And now…getting 2023.12.1.1 :) TeslaFi says about 1500 people in the download queue, and 90 current installs. So yeah - must be some sort of A/B testing.

    2022 M3 LR...First 1500 mile road trip (3k round trip)...suggestions?

I've done something similar, not to Florida, but 4000 miles there and back. My friend just did CO to FL a couple months ago in his Y LR. It's totally doable. I brought a CCS adapter to handle places where Tesla isn't as good, or where Electrify America was cheaper just to control costs. I also...

TeslaFi vs Tezlab vs Tessie vs Dashboard for Tesla vs Scan My Tesla vs TeslaLogger

I'm a heavy TeslaFi user. I've recently (like in the last month) tried Tessie and Tezlab. I also used to run TeslaMate and TeslaScope. I also have Stats and WatchForTesla. Here are my thoughts for what it's worth: Both Tezlab and Tessie paled to TeslaFi in terms of what I wanted which was...

    Denver to Granbury, TX

I get that - as I said I've done 15,000 miles in road trips so pretty comfortable with it. But also believe that real experience always trumps any kind of nav of any kind, especially since I've written, deployed, and led teams that dealt with major navigation products in the market you would...
