I don’t think there is a cigarette lighter adapter in my 2023 model s LR to power the screen

Does anyone have any good contacts that can ask tesla if the camera can be retrofitted ? I just bought a camera from amazon for the front bumper but I would much rather have it integrated.

So people who already have the car with 405 estimate. Will they send out a software update to change our current range. I don’t really care but just wondering.

So I got my model S in November and I posted the question. I’m very satisfied though my frunk sometimes doesn’t unlock and have an appt for that. It’s like my 2020 model 3. Small problems here and there but love the car overall

It seems to me you could just buy the part and swap out the filter yourself but I’m not sure.

You could do the sock and dam first and see if the smell disappears once the filter stays dry or try spraying some Lysol or something on the filter to kill any mold.

Has anyone gotten a quote on doing this or price for the parts to do it ourselves?

Picked up my LR in November. I was able to drive like 4.5-5 hours mostly above 70mph in below freezing temperatures without charging. I was happy with that real world range.

That’s fine for the filter but the smell will come back if yo don’t block water entry.

But its both things probably. Sometimes it’s the camera saying I’m not paying attention enough and sometimes its the wheel torque.

Can I just cover the in cabin camera?!?!?! Since the update the auto pilot is really annoying with nags and suspending. It happens sometimes when my hands are on the wheel applying torque and it still cuts off.

I fixed all the rattles and creaks in my car.

Just get the sock and the dam and either just pull the hepa completely or see if there is third hepa replacement for buy only the filter replacement from tesla and don’t worry about the housing. I really doubt the housing is going to solve the problem…..

I ordered the kit from Tesla. The paint doesn’t seem to match. It’s seems kind of bluish/purple. anyone have this issue or recommend a different brand? Very minor scratches.

Happy with my LR. I actually just put the vinyl red stickers on the calipers and they look pretty good and an after market spoiler from amazon. With the wheel covers on you can barely see the calipers and it still looks awesome.

LOL. It took Tesla how many years to figure this out? My 2020 model 3 had the problem and I’m sure other years did too. The fixes on this thread have worked so far but it’s really annoying they didn’t figure this out sooner. Pretty easy to fix in my opinion….

I taped a flat piece of pre filter directly on the intake without taking off the housing until I got the filter

Just drove for like 3 hours through torrential down pour this weekend. I popped the frunk right after and there were some small puddles of water sitting on top of my pre filter from amazon that I taped over the intake so the dam wasn’t 100% effective. I didn’t take off the housing to check...

I would not bother with the new assembly unless they change it for free. I haven’t had the smell yet as i put the dam up immediately and hydrophobic pre filter on when i got the car. I also did the same fix for my 2020 that always had the smell and it hasn't come back yet.

You can just push the general area hard and the horn will sound. It’s not as bad as it seems at first.

Another rattle I wanted to ask about. Seems at low speeds there is a click or mild thud /knock coming from driver’s side. Disappears at higher speeds.

I tried to fix. No luck. I just took delivery like 4 weeks ago so i wonder if updated part is different. It still should do the job but sock a tad too small. Barrier and 2 prefilters should hopefully prevent Elon’s musk.

I pretty much rush everything I’m doing with my car. I need more time! My ppf installs have been ok but too rushed and have bubbles ect.

I noticed my 4 week old LR seems to have a rattle from the arm rest. It seems like the metal trim at the back of the arm rest. Anybody else have this or know of a fix?

I got mine today too. Mine looks like its on more concave to allow water to sit on it. How did you make it more convex?

I just got the s but had the issue in the 3 too so trying to prevent it. I think you need a new filter. I just replaced the filters in the 3 and added the same barrier and pre filter and so far no smell in either.

A sheet of pre filter material from amazon taped over the air intake. Amazon has a few and I believe one from filter wears is available on amazon. It’s just a mesh screen that repels water.

I love my teslas but damn this is annoying. Put the barrier in and then change the hepa filter and try to put a hydrophobic pre filter over the intake or wait for the custom sock.

I don't think a new assembly is going to make that much of a difference. if enough water enters the air intake it's going to get the filter wet and then start smelling.

Yeah. It’s pretty dumb. I already lost my FSD trial for a week for being told I wasn’t paying attention too many times. It’s really sensitive. I think its the fact they are advertising it as FSD and making such a big deal about the feature that they are drawing all this attention .

Thats awesome! Great job hopefully finding permanent solutions. So far no smell on my model 3 or S and have also had serious rain storms. I’ve popped the frunk on both cars and there is water down the sides but the air intake appears dry so i think the Barrier is doing most of the work.

He told me like 3 weeks ago it would be 4-6 weeks before they would have them for sale.

I just tried it and it works. You just use your thumb somewhere near the horn icon and the scroll wheel icon and push hard and it works; much easier…..
