From someone who has had the swap done on their car, a while ago. Caveat: that was with a coil equipped car. But my guess is that it doesn't make a difference. My thinking is that there are dampening and spring rate changes required. So they would have to put in new struts. Edit: Final comment...

I would like to see the Inconel upgraded contactors in my 60. Not for performance (obviously can't pull any more amps out of my pack), but reliability. One less thing to worry about, can't overheat them. I have yet to receive a contactor replacement yet... still have the original ol' clickity...

I would recommend a D series car if your worried about these RWD drive units. They have an completely new design drive unit. 70D and 85D anyway. Also, all cars now have 8 year unlimited mile warranties on drive units and batteries (I know, you still want to keep it longer than the warranty)...
