    What's a used Roadster worth?

Whoops, that unfinished sentence was about the wheels. I moved it higher up but didn’t clean up. I saw what looked like a usb drive pluged into the port under the Center console in one of the photos. That’s how you pull the oyour ga and there are programs in this forum that can read the logs...

    What's a used Roadster worth?

Honestly, with the specs you've listed, I wouldn't list it at less than $70,000. I might take a little less only because of the missing hard top and base wheels. You've got a highly desirable color, low mileage, most recent model, and the double-din stereo. The only think you I see you've...

    PEM Fans

“Can not locate” tends to mean that they haven’t been good at keeping older parts organized. They seem to have to send someone into the warehouse to manually search though piles of parts. I’m not worried about a shortage.

    Charging Adapter

You can cut the Roadster connector off your charging setup and replace it with a J1772 head and use your CanJr all the time. But, no, I’ve never seen anything that converted from Roadster to J1772. That would be an extremely limited use case.

To be fair, he didn’t say he bought it three years ago; just that he fell in love with a black Roadster three years ago and really wanted one since then. He goes on to say that he realized he couldn’t afford it when he had to make his first payment. He’s being honest, but it does seem a bit...

    Title Skipping

I’ve always heard it termed “floating the title,” and it’s used to avoid paying sales tax on the transfer of the vehicle. I’m under the impression that it’s illegal and could get the seller in lots of trouble. Basically, the seller needs you to keep quiet about it so that he can save some...

Car does not find new CAC after battery exchange - help please!

The advice is to do a range charge and then take a single long drive (one turn of the key, never shut off) until you hit the threshold where the car says it can't calculate the estimated mileage remaining. Then charge it back up with a standard charge. That should allow the car to calculate...

    Roadster Charging

Yes, use that chart. Know that charging at 208 volts will take about 15% longer than at 240 volts. Also, as noted, at the higher amperage, the charger will slow down when it gets close to finishing. See how 32 amps charges twice as fast as 16, but 64 amps take a little longer than half of 32.

    Roadster Charging

I don’t think you should measure based on the device. What matters is voltage and amperage. There are two different “mobile chargers.” One tops out at 30 amps and the other goes to 40 amps. J1772 charges can range from 24 to 70 amps, with 30 being most common. Those J1772’s may be on a...

    Braking issues ...

Don’t be so quick with that diagnosis. They may need to be cleaned off at the start of every drive, especially if the car has been washed recently. Braking issues ...

If the brake booster has failed, it should feel like you described. That’s a pretty simple part replacement. However, the Roadster brakes are used so seldom, that they make need to be “cleaned off” before they’re really effective. Hit them hard a couple times and see if they improve. There’s...

My insurance company has a puck that sticks in the car. It’s self-contained and connects to my phone via Bluetooth. An app on the phone collects the data. 3.0 Battery Longevity

I’m under the impression this is all a software issue. Shouldn’t the 3.0 last longer based on the cell chemistry? The CAC calculation just doesn’t seem to be accurate for the 3.0, likely due to the standard charge threshold that doesn’t go high enough for the battery to balance. I’d like to see...

Not something you want to experience often....

Driving in range mode just reduces the amount of power supplied to the motor. Basically, it doesn’t allow you to floor the accelerator and drain the battery quickly. Range mode also unlocks the bottom 10% of the battery. Nothing makes it inherently “worse.” Driving in standard mode, the car...

Not something you want to experience often....

Maybe these are estimated instead of ideal miles? 10% should be around 24 miles of ideal range, but the estimated range could be lower when you hit that threahold. I’ve hit it a couple times on hot days when I had to use the a/c on an Austin/Dallas trip.
