    Model 3 Highland 318 vs 344miles

EPA shows as 305 with 19 and 341 with 18
  2. M

    Model 3 Highland 318 vs 344miles

I think they claim the covers give 3-5% extra although that’s from reading it a while ago from memory, the 344 will include that 5% I suppose although the new EPA figure of 272 miles with 18” wheels with aero covers seems more realistic, I assume that’s what it will show in the car, EU users are...

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

Isn’t Highland just a code name?, Tesla still officially just calling it a RWD or LR, I’ve just tried Go Compare and it allowed me to select a 2024 RWD, got a quote for £470 for a 5 star policy, when I tried November after placing order it was £570 so not sure if prices are easing a bit?

    Model 3 Highland 318 vs 344miles

It does seem optimistic to get 26 extra miles with 18” wheels?, when you look closely they say this is just estimated rather than WLTP On USA site EPA is shown as 272 miles tested on 18” wheels, with 19” it only estimates 248 miles for RWD (I believe though EPA tests are a bit stricter from Jan...

    2023 Shipping Movements

It’s white protective film, think the white models look like they don’t have it but it just blends in with paintwork colour, some could be peeled off as well I suppose

    2023 Shipping Movements

Yes just noticed my VIN has disappeared as well and I am able again to edit design

    2023 Shipping Movements

Yes I just got it as well, maybe forewarning incase ship is diverted from Suez?

    Tesla Alternative?

Yes agree, it’s across the board, just getting back to the norm of how things were before Covid and chip shortages
  9. M

    Tesla Alternative?

Taycan depreciation is shocking, had a look at a 18 month old one on Autotrader up for £62k, list new was £102k, motorway value it at £48k with 13k miles, I don’t think the low range of them helps, feel Porsche should be at the cutting edge but 268 miles WLTP is pretty average nowadays but they...

    Highland test drives

I believe they only have LHD showroom cars at moment, have put my name down in showroom for test drive a month ago but don’t think that will happen until the first RHD cars are shipped over Jan/Feb time?
  13. M

    VED Changes

Yep, That would make far more sense
  14. M

    VED Changes

Yep that is annoying the threshold doesn’t go up yet the put the actual surcharge up each year, started of at £300 extra now around £390?
  15. M

    2023 Shipping Movements

Weren’t Tesla just running down existing stock on the RWD LR? They only have white or black showing in inventory now for immediate delivery and nothing showing as in transit, I was half considering one a few months ago when they had all colours bar red showing
  16. M

    Trade in value

Depreciation now will be very low if you keep it, if you were leasing you would still have to pay the same monthlies locked into at the start of term and then have to start all over again when having to hand car back It’s a bit of a unusual situation currently, normally new car list price goes...

8 months old USA MYLR7 to UK

Anything over 6 months is classed as a permanent move for cars in UK and you would have to register it here so you would have to pay VAT and import duty, I would be surprised if US didn’t had some sort of clause in rebate for use in USA only sort of thing?
  18. M

8 months old USA MYLR7 to UK

Are you sure you wouldn’t have to pay back tax credits if exporting so soon?
  19. M

    Tesla Alternative?

Seems to be about right for the AWD version, RWD model is 354 miles WLTP from same pack size
  20. M

    Tesla Alternative?

Price of EQC seems mad, rinses a whole New M3 in 4 years even with 0% and only has a WLTP range of 254 miles from 80kwh, what would that be in real world? Not to mention servicing costs, Seems it’s all about the badge with this one
  21. M

Thinking of coming back to the fold - what have I missed?

Yep 22 plate Tesla RWD £30k or £40k for a new one, 22 plate Polestar 2 £27k or £45k for a new one, for a new buyer looks like Tesla is holding up well

    So… Highland is out…

I had a look at a Stealth Grey highland, you’re right seems to have evolved rather than night and day difference, interior just seems a bit cleaner and seats look and feel great, I do wonder if a lot of reviewers are comparing to Fremont built cars which supposedly aren’t as good build wise...
  23. M

    So… Highland is out…

That’s only on the LR RWD version. Inventory RWD and AWD models are 9.5% APR
  24. M

    So… Highland is out…

I suspect they are chasing targets for year end with the Y to beat last years cars sold figures, in October the Y dropped out of top ten cars sold but still 5th overall for the year It is odd though you can get an inventory old model M3 RWD for £42,990 with 9.5% APR but for £2k more a MY with...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Nice choice, I do like the new grey, yes dates were weird, just think the 31st December date stayed the same and was always the first date that changed until Friday I think, UK at least, Tesla will beat last years M3 delivery number especially if they put some good end of quarter deals on...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

My order changed from and to the same dates, was expecting it to be Jan-Feb originally so not too concerned, if you can do without a car now I would sell as used prices will only fall more I would have thought but depends how much you need it, as I understand it when car is in transit from China...

    So… Highland is out…

European manual says it’s on both side
  28. M

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

There are lots of AWD in inventory as well at moment so be careful you don’t get allocated one of those if you want Highland version, may be best to contact them, as far as I am aware no UK customers will get a Highland until December or early ’24

Fair point, it was just this was the first RHD version I had seen more than anything else

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Foreign language review (with Subtitles) but a RHD model, at least we can see wheel on the proper side!, Sorry if posted before, couldn’t see it
  31. M

    So… Highland is out…

It wasn’t just Japaneses cars it was a lot of British cars that had them on right side as well, I had many a 70s/80s cars like that, no idea when the swap over happened, I suppose it made more sense that stalk was put on drivers door side so you could operate with one finger at same time as...

Slap in the face by Tesla - Trade-in value £20k less than I paid Tesla just 18 months ago.

Yep same across the board I think, Polestar 2 has eye watering depreciation, last couple of years with shortages haven’t helped, so many more discounts available now which will hit used prices along with battery concerns
  33. M

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

That’s a good spot, think RWD is definitely fabric and and LR a suade effect? Couple of screenshots from YouTube reviews, first one is a LR, 2nd photo a RWD
  34. M

    So… Highland is out…

I drive in Milton Keynes quite a bit, quite a few of the roundabouts are lane controlled, you indicate and get in the correct lane on approach and then follow lane around, no need to indicate to leave as you are within a lane, works really well and traffic flows great, all indicating would do...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Tesla seem to have dropped to a lower price catorgy now and not competing with BMW, when M3 was launched in UK the RWD was more in the price range of M340i/330d, now it is same price as poverty spec 320i. EV base i4 is £10k more and you don’t even get a driver side adjustable lumbar support let...
  36. M

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

I’m not 100% sure why It says premium interior on my order as I believe it has a lower spec sound system, on pre-highland that was the only difference between Partial premium and premium interior as far as I can see or was there other differences? Highland has lost the fog lights on all models...
  37. M

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Price a bit misleading, that excludes delivery and reg fee but total is £41,995 which does seem great value your right, considering the competition base price is similar to a mid spec Astra EV or a Megane E-Tech, easy choice It will be my first Tesla, I was considering a used one but this model...
  38. M

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

No problem, easy mis-understanding, I’m sure there are some people in that situation but in theory should be a easy switch to new version if no match available to an old version I would have thought
  39. M

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

No it’s all done through Tesla website, there is a option to edit order, there you can change everything as if you are starting from scratch, RN number stayed the same as did the expected delivery time To clarify my original order wasn’t placed until the new model was available so definitely a...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Could explain the sudden earlier date shown on order, I was expecting Jan-Feb next year as that was indicated when I ordered so not an issue but shows November-December now in the app, I’ve switched to a Ultra Red so no chance of a similar old model but would be funny if they tried
  41. M

    So… Highland is out…

I’ve been between, Blue, White and Red but think Ultra Red is my favourite when I saw this picture, hopefully will look this good in UK winter 🤣
  42. M

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

If it’s the same email I had, it clearly referenced updated the model 3 and link in the email was definitely the updated version with the updated lower prices and spec
  43. M

    So… Highland is out…

Quite possibly is something along those lines, getting in testing early, it’s almost ‘because they can’ they do it, I wonder if extra speakers at both levels is to do with rear screen being able to play sound independently, although wonder how muddled that will be with music in front and sound...

    [UK] ‘Highland’ order discussion

Same here, Ordered a Blue RWD Highland, originally said Jan-Feb but now says 24th Nov-31st December, seems quite optimistic unless they are shipping already?
  45. M

    2023 Shipping Movements

Do you think it could be some UK bound Highland models on there? I placed an order that initially said Jan-Feb but now updated to between 24th November-31 December, Thanks
  46. M

    So… Highland is out…

Short review here, interesting trip around a roundabout about half way through
  47. M

    So… Highland is out…

Yes seen those stories pop up on Apple News (generally Sun or Mail) since ‘Highland’ was officially announced so should be no excuses but hope it easy to get used to

M3 Long Range - RW drive - confused?

Yes seems a good deal on 0% offer given the range and no waiting for one, on paper Highland Dual Motor is £3k more but finance is 9.5% APR
  49. M

M3 Long Range - RW drive - confused?

It’s the same sound system as previous £42999 RWD with 7 speakers, you do get fog lights though on LR RWD so seems a bit half way house between base RWD and AWD

M3 Long Range - RW drive - confused?

Easiest way to find them is click on explore inventory under the Model Y and then select filter and change Y to 3
