How to increase range on MX?

Buy a portable generator that you can put in the trailer. It can top up the car while fishing.

Hmmm. Just saw something similar on my 2017. Car was plugged in and already fully charged for the evening. Walked out to car and opened car door with AC and infotainment system coming on as expected. A moment later the wall charger indicated current flow; however, car charge ring which was...

Vendor Redwood Motorsports Model Y - Ohlins DFV (Performance and Grand Touring Specs) - RE-STOCKED

X is a very good ride. We have 60,000 miles on our 2017 X, including driving across the USA. The 2022 X is slightly better and also slightly quieter. The X is much more sophisticated than the Y in many ways (not just suspension.) I don't have an opinion in comparison to BMW or MB.

Vendor Redwood Motorsports Model Y - Ohlins DFV (Performance and Grand Touring Specs) - RE-STOCKED

I agree with the above, you end up with a smoother ride, but you do hear the suspension work at lower speeds (10-20 mph) going over speedbumps - it is a whooshing sound, my wife describes it as an old jalopy sound. There are no clicks or other mechanical sounds. The whooshing sound increases...

    Considering 2023 MX--The Yoke is a concern.

We have both versions of MX... we like the usability of the older version layout better. The new car is better built, has more features, etc... but steering wheel, stalks, buttons and menus: old version wins out...

I have both Mx 2017 and 2022, identical configuration. (See my signature for details. ) I would say the 2022 is slightly quieter and smoother, but only slightly. The noise cancellation is minimal at this time, you can hear a slight difference when you turn it on. Generally, people are happy...

    Why my Wh/mi so bad?

All ancillary systems (AC, Headlights, infotainment system) use energy. So reducing the AC load would help... but not by a substantial amount. AC systems use approximately 0.75 kWh, while driving the car at 60mph would use about 16 kWh. So you can see that cutting AC by 10% would only save...

    Why my Wh/mi so bad?

I fully agree with this - not only do you break in all of the moving parts (bearings, etc...) but you also learn to drive the car better... someone else suggested you use chill mode - that's a good idea too. Go through all of the menus and set the car the way you like. Drive it for a few weeks...

Model Y Suspension and Ride Comfort Options

You guys are missing the point. People are indicating the initial pressure, because that's what was the setting when we drove the car for the 1st XXX miles. Later, when we lowered the pressure, we are providing a relative feel for the car - in comparison to that initial pressure. This has...

Forget about it... No single test will help you figure out what you are going to do going across the country. I crossed the country last summer in our 2017 X, over 2 weeks and 4500 miles - car did great. Just use your Navigation system and it will guide you from charger to charger...

I have a 2017 MX and a 2022 MX and am aware of the HEPA filter size / shape differences. I don't perceive any sound level increase, maybe even a slight decrease in the passenger cabin. The velocity in the new filter should not be a major issue, as compared to maximum air flow rates. And...

My January 2022 model Y build has the original large HEPA filter... easy to service, way more surface area - so should be a better filter all around. The only negative is that the previous version takes up a lot more space... Maybe this is why the frunk in my 2022 X seems larger than my 2017 X...

Air conditioning in the cargo area of the 5 seat configuration

Turn off the recirculate option. This will force air out through the rear tailgate exit vents... hence the whole car will get conditioned air. It will use a little bit more energy... but your dog in the trunk area will be cooler.

You don't determine build date from the VIN. You have to call the delivery center and you can ask them for the build date, or the date my car came alive... something to that effect. They will just tell you.
