Have you been uncorked? Post your impressions!

It's the same drivetrain as the 100D so should be fine

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I bought the D cars since 2015 hoping for this update or I would wait until my warranty ran out and have it done with an after market tune which I think will become popular when warranties run out in 2020 or bigger battery upgrade. I had also seen the wiki page that stated that 70D and 85D both...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

My bros car was uncorked today VIN is in the 180s, was a 60D but has been 75D for many months. I just upgraded my 60D to 75D today and was told it's still ineligible. Most likely rolling out VINs in order of when they were upgraded from 60D which would put me last. There is also another factor...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I can tell buy the weight of the car, hp figures and acceleration by comparison to ICE cars, corked: 245kw would have been around the wheel power (329hp) and 280kw (375hp) motor power. Uncorked:450 motor and around 400 whp. It does make it hard to compare as EVs have 100% torque from 0 rpm and...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

Using the older p85 motor as reference 310kw, I would guess that the new rear drive unit is probably back up around that level or more (rear motor in 75d before new DU was 285kw) but if you take into account that the RWD 75 weighs 112kg less than the p85 and that the p85 was timed under 4...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

518hp is the full capability of the combined front and rear motor in the 60D,70D,75D,85D,90D and 100D. In the 75D before uncorking, they were producing 329hp, now over 400hp uncorked but still not at full motor power of 518hp (that's if you are going off the quoted hp, owners using the ap report...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

S 75d 60d and 70d have always been sold here in Australia with 245kw (329hp) quoted on the configuration page. Seems like they under quoted and realistically produced 270-280kw. Uncorked reporting 333kw so about 75hp increase

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

My car is March 2017 60D. I called sc today and service advisor checked my vin. It's not showing as eligible but was advised to wait until my appointment before I upgrade to 75D as they may know more by then and that this uncorking older cars is very new to them

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

I love charging to 100% every day even though it's an illusion but I recently drove Melbourne to Adelaide and the extra 50km would have come in handy although I still made it with the 60D, there was slight "range anxiety"(hate that term) but more likely because I wasn't patient enough to fully...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

That's a good sign. Maybe my service advisor didn't have time to check my vin today or maybe cars that are still 60D configuration don't show eligibility. I'm guessing I'll have to upgrade to 75 anyway

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

It's possible Tesla just aren't updating cars bought as 60D. Are there any confirmed 60D to 75D cars uncorked?
  13. M

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

Yes I wonder if cars will be made eligible at a later date and they are slowly updating the database or updating batches of VINs. I just hope it's not all 60D upgraded to 75D cars that are ineligible

Are you sure the service centre is aware of the change in uncorking cars before June? It's only been a couple of days since announced

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

That's cool! My 60D May 17 190xxx is booked in Sydney next week. They said they will tell me on the day if it's eligible. I'm willing to upgrade the battery to 75 if not :)

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

RWD owners, if you consider that the original P85 cars produced a claimed 310kw and were timed by motortrend at 3.9 seconds 0-60 along with the fact that the P85 weighs 112kg more than the 75, it seems that 285kw (old rear motor) should be enough to get down to 4.4 seconds. There are other...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

I didn't think any pre June RWD 75s had been uncorked? I figured the new hardware mentioned was the new drive unit fitted to AWD and RWD cars and that the old drive unit in combination with front motor was sufficient in the D. If pre June RWD cars have been uncorked then they must be maxing out...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

My understanding is that the rear drive motor since the D was unveiled is only capable of producing 285kw, so the classic 60 and 85 RWD would have more chance of being uncorked as the motor is rated at 310kw which should be just enough for the recent new RWD times. I'd expect 70D would be...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

Australian site has an inventory 75 vin 188543 0-100kph 4.6 seconds Also all 100D inventory cars early as 193 vins show 0-100kph in 3.3 while new orders show 4.3 seconds. The 100D figure seems to be a mistake as kph would be a couple of tenths slower than 60mph.

Just ordered a Model S 75D! Please help!!

I don't know why somebody was questioning your income, 170k seems great to me and Tesla are probably the cheapest car to own as there are no required service costs, you can drive anywhere in USA for free! Supercharging is free for life if you use a referal code when you purchase, you also save $1400

AP 2.0 vs. AP 2.5 - Rain Sensing Wipers?

If you want rain sensing wipers but don't want EAP and are considering an inventory model which is basically used car, get yourself a P85D! Basically the same car but with McLaren acceleration. Seriously fun car to drive! With twice the power of the 75. I wish I had bought one as AP2 hasn't...

Updated S75 DU01; Gearbox updated as well?

You shouldn't have any problem with hard launches with traction control on, I do it at every traffic light. If you are able to turn it off and do a burnout you'll probably get a better launch and I still doubt you could damage the gear or shafts. Tesla promoted these cars buy launching...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

It would make make sense, they have used all kinds of tricks to increase sales before earnings, free supercharging run out etc. It is important for the company to be profitable. I love my car but I would have sold and upgraded to the new performance spec like many people probably have. I've...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I got 2017.32 on my S 60D vin190 tested 0-100km/h (61mph) with 28km range 5.7 seconds I thought that was good considering such low state of charge but obviously no performance update. The reason I bought the dual motor car was in hope that the full capability of the car will be unleashed in...

Model S Spec just updated overnight!!

The change to vegan interior is about emissions. The cattle industry equals the amount of emissions that cars produce on earth. I believe the total transport number is much higher when you include ships as they are the largest transport polluters. Cars and cows are equally damaging to the...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I understand that 400kw is not 691hp. That was my whole point. The 691hp is an equivalent. The car is equivalent to 700+hp cars quoted by the rest of the auto industry
  30. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

This thread is about the new 75. I mentioned the gear box because you were complaining about the car lacking power at 40mph, I understand powertrain losses. A dynamometer can not accurately measure the power of an EV. The drag strip is where you can easily prove the 691hp comparing to ice...
  31. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

Did you know the P85D didn't have a gearbox? You don't seem to understand basic power to weight, gear ratios or drag racing fundamentals. The car has 691hp. If there's anything you should be complaining about, it's the fact that the car limits power due to overheating. The horsepower argument is...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

There aren't many 2.2 ton sedans, the most powerful s class is around 600hp so that's not a good comparison. I don't think there is a 7 series with that much power either. The most comparable sedan to the P85D would have to be the Audi RS7 Performance which is a much lighter car at 2.03 tons and...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I understand Tesla haven't delivered on some things, I have my own issues with them but I have to say that the 691hp is accurate for an equivilent. If you show me a car that can run a low 11 et weighing 2.2 tons with less than 691hp, I'd be very impressed. 760hp is actually the more accurate...
  35. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

85D = 311kw so depending on if the new car has a software limited 85kwh pack and weighs the same as an 85D or 90D. If it's still a 75 pack then probably 100kg lighter so a little less power, maybe 290 300kw
  36. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

    85 rated at 278kw (373hp) 85D rated at 311kw (417hp) 70D 60D 75D (old) rated at 245kw (329hp) New 75D would have to have around 300kw to have the same 0-60 as 85D 90D etc (75D is lighter)

    Pictures of production Model 3s

I would think that the stock height is set to 100mm at least, probably much higher as these cars will be fully autonomous and you wouldn't want the car to get stuck on a speed bump or anything. I think SAS will come next year with AWD and P models etc. The only reason I bought SAS on my S was...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

So do all 75 and 75d have 85kwh 400v? Or are some new cars confirmed as 75kwh 350v? I just checked my April build and it 75kwh 350v as expected...

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

Should be 310-320kw for D and around 300kw for RWD although I can't confirm

    60D & 75D Actual Acceleration?

Yes this is great, it really puts the 75d in the class of alot of high performance cars. There are a couple of threads about it. We have established that the new car has the same 75kwh 350v battery pack sticker, so it doesn't seem to be a 400v car like the 85d 90d 100d etc. This is a good sign...

Pack Swap on 70D to 90kWh HP?

If you watch the whole video the car did 3 runs 5.2, 5.0 and 5.1. He then mentions that his equipment tends to round up and Its probably a 4.9. Wiki has all 70d 60d 75d at 2090kg. I have owned all three and interestingly the two 60d/75d ap2 refresh cars I had felt slightly different in power...
  43. M

Pack Swap on 70D to 90kWh HP?

Something else to keep in mind is that a 70D was tested by dragtimes with consistent 5.0 and 4.9 second 0-60 times and that motortrend managed 3.9 seconds out of a P85. It's clear that Tesla understates the performance of their cars with the exception of the P100D etc Does this mean the new 75D...
  44. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I'm talking about serious hard driving. Awd is superior In sports cars, think Gtr, Evo, 911 turbo etc You need to be able to turn off the traction control on a rwd to drive it hard. The steering modes don't actually adjust the suspension
  45. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

My guess was that they did infact both have the same suspension and the D being heavier makes the front feel tighter but I could be totally wrong. It could just be that the front end is lighter on the RWD and it runs different suspension setup
  46. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

Tesla rear motor has always been 310kw, the 60-70-75 only produced 235kw in the past so there was always more power to be unleashed
  47. M

75 and 75D variants increased performance from July 1st - software and hardware improvements?

I've driven both and the D is definitely more of a performance car. The 75d actually has close to 50/50 weight distribution. The RWD lacks performance in cornering as the traction control limits power and I don't think you can turn it off without pulling a fuse. It also feels a bit spongy and...
